Things that make you go Hmmmmmm

Why does a 45 rpm 7 inch record have a big hige hole in the center and a 12 inch 33 rpm record have a little tiny hole?

(you may have to be a certain age to understand what these are).

Because rca invented the 45 and wanted to get people to only use their new format so they made the hole bigger so people had to buy their records to play on their player.

And then they came out with an adaptor that slid over the spindle so you could play 45's on any turntable anyways. They also had the little plastic inserts to put in the 45 so you could use the small spindle player.

yes, but you got to remember this was after the 45 pretty much became the standard. So, record player manufactures started making players that would play both. They also had to change the speed of the turntable not just the size of the hole.

Anyone remember how many 45's could be stacked on the adapter to be played?

Why is there Braille on drive-up ATMs?

(I actually think I know the answer to this.)

Seven sounds about right. Even though half the time the whole stack dropped at once before the arm was out of the way.

It's because Atm's are public use machines and their's a law the requires braille on public use machines.

omg, this really dates me, but believe it or not, I still have two small cases of 45's AND the little adapters to play them. They are records I bought when I was in grade school (the 60's). I remember the records cost .50 cents each.........

Nothing wrong with that. I have about 500 including albums ,and I still play them. It brings back a lot of good memories.
