2011 SS2/RS - Controller

Hi everyone. Anyone have any idea what the controller is that is attached to the windshield next to the rear view mirror? I found the cover on my passenger seat the other day and after figuring out where it goes I noticed it was some kind of controller with a wire connected. Cant seem to find any info on it.

Thanks,
Risk

I think it has something to do with the OnStar GPS system.

Isn't the door fob receiver located there as well?
