Intake manifold

I know this has been a popular subject.. and I may be over thinking things. Given the mods in my signature, and using my car more for rolls and half mile events, I'm shopping for an intake. My intentions were LOD. But the price tag has me questioning myself if it's actually worth the $1500. Most people say Rod Mod the stocker, but does it ACTUALLY provide results? I know guys that run the Holley sniper, but seen Dyno comparisons with the stocker and wasn't impressed even though the guys that run them have beast ass cars. (Given they do have more CI than the LS3). I like this new FAST intake coming out, but they're saying it won't be AT LEAST until April before it's released. Has anybody heard of the new TSP or BTR intakes? You guys have always been helpful. Looking for advice and recommendations

I started with ported and rod mod stocker. I switched over to a short runner intake only because I plan to run 7500+ rpm and move up to more cubes. If I didn’t want to do those things I would have stuck with stocker.

I did plenty of research on the Rod Mod intake. The proof of Rick Crawfords work is all over with dyno testing and track testing. For the price, this intake hasnt been beaten.

Google seach RCR rod mod or RCR intake and theres so many threads from G8 forums, Corevette forums and Cheyv SS forums. If you dont want to read, it basically performs the same (a little better actually) than a FAST 102 LSXR

The LOD is not overpriced. It's a very nice piece, worth every penny. If you don't care about looks and are going for max performance for the dollar... get the rod mod.

I agree with clark, the LOD is not over priced and it only weight 26lbs, not too heavy and it looks great. All I can say is I wished I could run this thing past 7k where they have my redline set at because when I get on it hard it pulls very hard up to that point, and still wants to go more, but have to shift. From a rolling start at 45mph in 4th gear I would shift down to 2nd gear and romp on it and man hang on !! It pulls like a freight train until you let off of it. I'm happy with it and impressed how it performs for me. Once I get this thing retuned and am able to run it to its full potential, it will be nicer. Good luck in your choice.

I'll be sure to check that out CamaroDreams. I'm going for overall performance but looks would be a bonus. Something to flow with those tall, polished valve covers I have would look great!

The LOD is a really nice piece and worth every penny.it want to rev really high and it seems to not lose any mid and even low.

For all it includes and plus it fits under the hood, you cant go wrong.

If I wanted looks I would go Sniper. But it actually loses power vs the stock manifold. I'm between LOD and Rod mod

Plus with the sniper, don't you have to cut up the cowl? And lose a wiper on the passenger side?
