Power steering fluid
If I'm correct the early 2010 camaros used ATF for the power steering instead of the usual prestone power steering ??

The only difference between ATF and PS fluid is the boiling point and PSI rating.
PS fluid has a higher boiling point and wont degrade as fast compared to ATF. ATF is roughly 1200 PSI boiling point and PS fluid is roughly 1600 PSi. |

To jump in on this, I saw some full synthetic power steering fluid made for American vehicles at Walmart, is that stuff safe to use?

The part number for the GM fluid has changed twice since the original posted part number of 89020661. It is now 19329448. For how much longer is anyone's guess. List price from GM is $12.52 as of today. You can find it on fleabay for around 11 bucks shipped give or take.
As far as buying the synthetic stuff, it should be ok as long as it doesn't have some sort of stop leak crap in it, or some cheesy cheap store brand. Buy a name brand and you know it'll be quality. It may say it's compatible with the non-synthetic on the bottle. Most are. It's your car and your money, but for an extra buck, I'd go with a brand name fluid if not the GM stuff. If it's Prestone full syn for AMERICAN CARS (has the BLUE stripe on the bottom of the label), it claims to be mixable with factory fill stuff, and it's about the same price point as the GM stuff.

Is there supposed to be a certain mileage where you need to flush and refill the powered steering fluid?

Keeping check on the level and topped off and if it's a little darker it's ok. I'd say as long as it's not contaminated, you should be ok.

Yeah. I checked my fluid level a couple weeks ago just out of curiosity and it’s still fine. No leaks either.

1 bottle would be plenty, and yes, you can use that.
