Thank you sir!! I'm sure that 429 is no slouch! Obviously a little more to it than just a few extra cubes....but it is fun to say "460"

Everyone always trys to narrow it down to the big Items, when it is the little items that really add up on a job like this.

Ted.
The guy I referred him to is the same one that built the engine I am running right now. He is expensive but does things right. He is old school and has been racing and building engine for 40+ years now. Heck, you probably know his as he is pretty old, lol. He id from NY but moved down to CA a while back. His name is Joe Jill.

He built the engines in the Camaro, Hemi and Viper truck in my sig. The 408 in the Silverado was built before I met him.

There are others less expensive but I did not know what his budget or time limits were.

He is doing the R&R himself though and the transfer blower, gaskets fluids, spark plugs, etc. should be the same either way.

ChargedCamaro, are planning on selling your engine in its current state(Blown)? If so how do you want for it?

Again Jimmy, Thank you for your good info. I prob would have went with Joe if the time line was a little different, but budget and most importantly time is a huge factor

I'm considering a doing a stroker (size undetermined, thou staying NA), and am wondering what the general cost is, installed with proper components if you are staying under 900hp.

Parts/labor/gift for wife to look the other way.

Thanks kindly, you helped me to find my cap . Guess I'll see what I can squeeze out of the current displacement. Thinking I can get another 10k past the wife before I get cut off on this car.

I'm still very green to the process of stroking, so please bear with me. Using the following as an example.

http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1020-ts...-assembly.aspx

What is it that I am missing which would put it north of $12,000 by the time it's out the door? Or were you figuring in a very sizable gift for the wife ?

The way I see it is you can spec that package out to around $2700 with good components. Add in your install and tune and you would still be shy of $6k.

Thank you again, I am learning so I appreciate your patience.

You have machine work and assembly and I also stated headwork to be done in our price.. what you posted is no where even close to the same.. your comparing apples to a steak right now.. your not anywhere close to what you asked me about

You can't build what we would do for 6k simple as that.. good luck you have a lot to learn

valvetrain, oil pump, lifters ,timing set , etc... we build a precision engine using quality proven parts. You dont have 1/10th of what I speced or even thought about it from what I can see
And that is why I asked...
