V6 top speed

I am in the research stage for buying a gen 6 V6 Camaro. I have searched the web but I canīt find the governor top speed. Every road test a have encountered talks about estimated top speed. What is the V6 top speed? Has someone driven the car to its top speed?

Its likely based on the tires, so the RS models may have a higher top end, but maybe not since I think all the 6th gen V6 tires are high performance all seasons.

On my prior 5th gen V6, the RS had the summer performance tires, and the top speed was higher than non RS cars. Top speed was 155

Thanks for the response. The GM site only mentions 245/50R18, blackwall, all-season tires (regular package) and 245/40R20, blackwall, all-season, run-flat tires (RS package). There is no high performance rating.

I believe RS top speed is 155. I read about a 2016 v6 RS dyno run and they mentioned they hit the 155 limit.

What about the non RS V6? What speed rating does the tires have? What about the speed governor limit?

No doubt it will exceed 155

Just did a quick 4 day trip, Florida, NY and back to Florida. I would normally fly up but my new 2016 plain Jane white V6 speed overruled me.

Chevy's speedo is right on the money as checked against my GPS. At 3am with tail lights in the distance I had to try it. Probably should have checked the break in rules. It had 340 miles when I left FL.

I-95 South, cool night and hopefully clear of the Bulls I shifted to 3rd and hit it. I saw 146mph in 5th and it was still pulling strong. I have no doubt this little car would break through the 155 barrier.

I have not owned an American vehicle except for trucks since the 70's. I'm so glad I bought this little gem when I did.

I'd never hit that in the big city, it's a challenge to hit 75 around here, always someone needs to get in your lane right in front of you....At the track, straights only allow you at least 125, depending on the track. Interstate, DPS troopers everywhere. 80 is a challenge. Oh I hit 100-115 at times...but the fun is very short...
top speed on these is limited to 155 as mentioned above. Again you will never see it.

FWIW the 2016 Camaro brochure lists the top speed of both the turbo 4 and V6 as 149, v8 as 180.

Im surprised at how quickly this car goes from 70 mph to 100 mph. I havent timed it yet but cruising at 70 and then mashing it, I get to 105 really quickly!

no clue where you were, don't need to know, but impressive. most will never have the confidence to get that high, even on a test track.

last time I saw numbers there, I was a passenger in my cousin Markus's brabus modded setup on the autobahn at 16.
