Beat the Dead Horse - GM CAI
So I am looking at the GM CAI kit. My main concern is how will affect my shift points.
Will it shift sooner or later? Will it shifter harder and faster? |

A Roto-Fab might be a better choice! There’s nothing wrong with the Chevy Performance CAI though. You will probably hear more intake noise and improved throttle response.

Not sure if they make a Vararam for our cars. It sure helped with the C6.

Nope no VaraRam yet and doesn’t look like there will be one for the 6gen anytime soon.

Nope
Nope The only difference you'll notice is a bit more induction noise and a better looking engine bay. (I had the GM CAI before going with the Maggie+Roto-Fab combo.)

I never took my car to get the updated tune that is provided with the kit but just like arpad said, more induction noice and cleaner looking engine bay. |

I love mine, definitely dresses up the engine bay (first thing everyone points to when you pop the hood) and you definitely get a lot more intake sound... Probably my favorite upgrade...
I bought mine from ShopChevyParts.com, installed it myself and took it to the dealer for the free tune...

My car came with it and all I can hear is the exhaust. I keep it in sport mode, but how are you guys hearing able to hear the intake? I’ve had turbo cars and I could hear the difference, but all I hear is the exhaust. The GM CAI definitely makes the engine bay look clean compared to the stock box.

I am looking heavily into this, particularly for it being CARB compliant. Anyone regret?

I installed one this past spring and had the tune done at the dealership. As others have said nothing about shifting changes. It looks good under the hood and you can hear the CAI working when stepping on the gas. As has also been stated by many, there is very little if any performance gain. The stock intake works great as is so if your goal is performance there are better places to spend the money for gain.

The gains are very close if not on par with most CAIs. It looks clean and you don't have to worry about issues at the dealership.
