WTH? A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT 1500 MILE SERVICE!

WTF? Took my ZL1 to a Chevy Dealer for the 1500 mile service and they have no clue about what's required for service ! I gave them clear instructions to goto GM's website and print out required services for break-in to document they did it correctly !

Take it to a Cadillac Dealer...the CTS-V guys are more qualified to deal with your car's needs.

Time to drive out of there and try another dealer, that's just too scary.

I'm not seeing any 1500 mile service on Chevy.com or OnStar, what 1500 mile service is there and exactly where did you find this?

I could not find anything about a 1500 mile service in the manual. Can you show us where you saw this. Thanks.

I have not seen anything anywhere about a 1500 mile 'service' requirement. The 1500 mile break-in period is what the owner is advised to abide by when he first gets his car, and is his responsibility. The only recommended thing would probably be an early oil change or two, and a good visual inspection of everything on the car for things like fluid leaks, etc.. Then follow the GM recommended routine maintenance schedule listed in your owner's mannual.

Changing all the oil(s) and since it was on the track after the 1500 break-in, requires more service .................

Its at the dealer now, will post follow-up later!

it doesn't really need service at 1500 miles but I'll be changing the engine oil. the indicator still says it has 70% life though. I was also thinking of changing the diff fluid but it's not necessay either. i didn't track it. I'm surprised that they want $90 for oil change (their oil M1) and $89 for the diff fluid change (my oil +$40 = 130 total?) wHAT'S THE BIG DEAL WITH THE DIFF FLUID CHANGE?

Your first oil change should be free of charge. I don't think $90 for the diff change is out of line at the dealer. You could have a quick lube place change it if you brought the GM fluid for less.

diff change is 90 without the oil, which makes it more expensive than the actual engine oil change which is 90 with the oil and it needs 8 quarts of mobil 1...I'll ask about the free oil change.
