Question LS7 Blackout with plastidip

I want to do the LS7 blackout for the rear mostly, but would try the front too. How would you do this with plastidip. For the rear do you need the tape to be exactly on the lines for a good cut or what? Thanks!

I did mine with painters tape in the following order.

Tape off the area
remove tail light bezels
spray a light coat, wait 20 mins to dry
spray a Heavy coat, remove painters tape immediately after the heavy coat
wait 30 mins to dry
retaped the area, spray a light coat, wait 20 mins to dry
spray a Heavy coat, remove painters tape immediately after the heavy coat
wait 30 mins to dry

I painted right over the bowtie and removed it after it was dry.
I also added a red pinstripe to make the edge look a little crisper.

There a tons of ways to do this and a lot of methods so I am sure others will help out also. Try what you think would be easiest for you. Good luck man It looks great after your done in my opinion.

I just used plasti-dip a few weeks ago in the cold and I couldn't get it to work right for me. It kept coming out in globs. Just food for thought.

id use plastidip , i did it on my formula . Comes out great , make sure the can is warm, mask off what you want , then spray 3-4 light coats of dip, wait 15 min between each coat , and then on your last coat pull the tape after you have sprayed. Dont use edge lock tape either . it has a chemical in it that does mess up plastic and rubber trim . Seen it happen on a friends trans am . But if you get sick of the dip just remove it .Its can be pressure washed and holds up great .

One way is to layer the tape and just have the ends overlapping and folded over making little tabs that way you can rip off a layer of tape but not have to retape everything again and again.
