CCFL and back up sensors question

I have seen a few threads that say the CCFL Oracle afterburners interupt the reverse sensors. But dont see alot of detail, what do they mean by interupt? Do they quit working, does it only affect them when they are on? Are they just not accurate as before? I prefer the more solid look of the CCFL light

Wow more people are experiencing this? When I called AAC the tech acted as if I was making it up. At night time when the halos are on and I put the car in reverse the back up sensors beep two or three times then stop. On the dash message comes up saying service parking assist.

Woah...new to me. Hadn't heard this before but anything is possible.

CCFL is going to act like a Flourescent Light Tube. When RFI hits it, there may be some irregularities in the illumination for milliseconds. Enough to see with the human eye though.

Most likely since there is a small RF Signal that emits from the backup sensors when in use.

I've never heard or seen this, but I reckon it's very possible.

The CCFLs give a nice soft glow, but honestly, the SMDs (from 10 feet out) look pretty darn great!!

Plus they will most likely last longer than the CCFLS.....our experience.

Get at us when you need them.

I think I've tried all I can think of. I've moved the inverter inside the trunk and wrapped them in tin foil. Nothing has helped. Not sure how many car have parking assist and CCFL halos. Probably a very small number.

I dont have them yet, I am asking because I have seen a half a dozen threads that have mentioned issues but not with any detail. So I'm trying to find out how bad it is before I buy

Nothing bad. Your parking assist won't work at night time.

So that is the problem??? I've had the CCFL afterburners for about a month and my parking assist stopped working ever since. I check my configuration settings and it states it is on but nothing works. Ive disconnected my battery for hours and nothing. Same problem. Wish i saw this before I purchased my afterburners.

**So just did a quick check after checking on the forums. During the day with my lights off the parking assist works fine. As soon as I turn on my lights though the parking assist switches to off. So I have come to the conclusion that it must be the afterburners. Now I need to find a solution to this problem ASAP.**

Is the parking assist IR? It doesn't take much to jack up an IR signal.

Solution is back up camera. I never did find a fix for it and I've just dealt with it. I've unplugged the CCFL inverters at night and put the car in reverse and the parking assist works normal.
