It's too late for me, but maybe not for you...
Just wanted to share this piece of advise for new ZL1 owners regarding your rocker panels behind the doors and paint protection/film.....
Do it!! My 13 ZL1 only has 800 miles on the odo and she is already peppered with rock chips where the side "fins" are located behind the door. I wish I would have thrown some protective film on there when I has a chance! Oh well, Doctor colorchip for me....but hopes this helps someone else... |

Sorry about the peppered gills there is a member on the forum that sells front splash guards that I just put on last week and they look great ! His call sign is Oneslow. Very easy install.

I bought a couple pieces of Xpel film from their website and installed them myself. Super easy and well worth the time. I just watched a few videos on YouTube to learn the materials and technique. Highly recommended.

Good Advice. That was the first mod I did to my car. I did the paint protection and put the rock guards on also.

So, I know that the SS has a little bit of this issue as well. Do the tires sit out a little further on the ZL1?

Same thing happened to mine. I did have the Expel clear film installed on the front bumper and side mirrors. This car attracts bugs like no other I've owned including my TB SS.

yes. and instead of a treaded pattern throughout, so the rocks would carry and hit the wheel well, the outside of the Supercar g-2 on the 1le and zl1 is basically flat, so it just throws them straight back.

paint correction and PPF (Paint Protection Film) at proper detailer/installer. Best first mods you will ever do after picking up your new beloved ride. But better late than never!
