What's the top end on a stock LS3 2010 Camaro

I thought I read in a car magazine the 2010 LS3 should do 150-155 mph on the top end. But then doesn't the ECM limit the top speed to around 140 mph? My gt500 mustang buddies are claiming 150 mph no sweat. I did 120 in the 1/4 mile yet kept my foot in it past the finish line. I know on the fwy 105 mph the tach is reading less than 3000 rpm in 6th gear. I'm not condoning breaking the law. Yet has anyone taken a stock LS3 on a road course? I know the 2010 Camaro needs better gearing out back for good 1/4 times.

The ECM limits the car to 155.
Without it...the car should easily be able to reach 175+.

Really, that's quite awesome for a $30K+ car. Do you know this for a fact?

Not as a "fact"...because I don't think anyone's gone that fast before...it would require an abandoned, 2-mile long airstrip (or similar) to get up there....

But the LS3 brings the Corvette up to 190. So high 170s is not unreasonable to expect out of a not-as-sleek Camaro.

There is a member here who shall remain nameless, unless he wants to speak up, with a supercharged LS3 that topped the 200 mark. His tune eliminated or stretched the ECM limiter to open in up. That is a bit fast for me, but he loved it.

Joe, I swore someone from GM said they were able to get it in the 180's regularly and 189 was the top speed they got it up to....you remember this from INDY? I could be way off....but....man, I really think this is what was said...

I didn't think the coefficient of drag (cd) numbers for the 2010 is not that good. It's quite wide and I would think a lot of air gets under the car. The car definitely needs to be lowered for anything above 140 mph.

I have an abandoned road that I've tested mine out on and got to 140mph easily. After acheiving that I let off, you could feel the car wanting to float. I've owned plenty sports cars and that 140 to 150 mark is something to hit, but if your car isn't the proper height you run the risk of loosing it because it just wont stay on the road with the slightest thing causing you to loose control. I plan on lowering my car and trying again. Everyone please be careful and not test your cars limits anywhere others could be hurt. I'll keep you posted
