Got the word today that the one I had was pulled to be a festival car. Now dealer says he can not reserve car/sell car to me until he takes possession of car after the race. Then they may want more for the car, price unknown. So now I'm looking again for one, Then emails me back and offers a manual car to me for 8k over sticker. Back to looking for one.:( any help out there.

Sounds suspicious to me.. I don't think the event cars are taken from the dealership's 1 allocated car. Sounds to me like they realized they were able to make more money, so they reniged on the sale. Did you place a deposit on the car? This type of behavior goes way back.. look at what the dealers were doing with the 78 pace car (corvette).

My car is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday on rail, and the salesman requested I come in a do title info on it. I said no problem. At least now they can't sell it to someone else. That VIN is now titled to me.

I have a deposit for one in Canada and the dealership keeps telling me they do not have the MSRP on the Pace car yet. Does anyone know the Canadian MSRP.
My second question is to find out what you all think about the 2011 pace car. Is it really worth the extra money for the badging and trim? Is 500 cars of the same design really all that special and should it demand a higher price now or in the future?

talked to dealer today and some truth came out. gm says that due to limited production they want 6k over msrp, since I want one and can not find one any less sent dep. and car is mine. now waiting on dates and vin. had to sell my 69 rs and a few other toys, to get though, but I still have the 69 conv. that I'm restoring. So now I'm going to finish it as a clone of the 69 pace car.

I have a friend that has an auto being built right now. He bought a triple black 6 speed convertible two weeks ago. I think 99% chance he is going to be selling the Pace Car.

Thanks now crossing my fingers that everything holds true and comes thru. had to sacrifice alot to get it, I hope that all that ive sold was not for nothing.
