So you also think that they will retire the ZL1 after they reintroduce the Zed28?

FACTS...as we currently know them (in no particular order):

1) "We are NOT done..." fbodfather...and I take him/them at their word.

2) Gen-5 Camaro soldiers on, with a refresh, for MY '13-'14-'15...so there IS "time".

3) "ZEE needs more n/a bhp"...general (or is that "General"?) concensus.

4) Gen-4 SBCs (current LS-family) are time-limited...new Vette, and new family of Trucks, are neigh, which account for 75%+ of LS-based usage.

5) Wixom's OEM future: If the dry LS3/LS7/LS9 ALL "disappear", post-C6, then what?

6) Camaro has enjoyed early/unique engines in the past: 350 (1st use), 302 (unique)

7) Z28 (or Z/28) is a truly hallowed name/brand...NO QUESTION!

Questions to be considered (again, in no specific order) and answered:

A) What initial SALES volume will the 6-speed-only 1LE enjoy? Or will its limitation to 3-pedal-only status dwindle demand?

B) Based on the 1LE's actual sales, how much volume is there for something even MORE "serious"?

C) Priced from $40-45K (1SS/2SS/Options), is there "room" below the $54-60K ZL1 for "something else"?

D) For the SAME inve$tment, is/are there version(s) of Gen-5 Camaros more fully capable of expanding Market Share/Profits? "Dusk" (as BOTH an LT and SS) and a "V6 1LE" come to mind...

OK, folks, now that I've played "The Team", YOU play "Mark Reuss"...

Clyde
well, that and the fact that you could get a big block for the SS but for the Z28

So if this is true (and I have faith in his word) is there room in the line up for a 2nd road course car? We usually talk in terms of competition so who would the Z/28's competition be if the 1LE can take care of the Boss LS?

Just some thought's to discuss.....

I think the 1LE will handily (no pun) outrun the GT/Track Package AND Base BOSS. And even though a sub-3:00 VIR time appears to be quicker than the BOSS LS Lightening Lap time of 3:02.4, DON'T assume Dearborn is "done" playing with their trackstar...

What a "massaged 1LE" aka ZEE would do is ASSURE a BOSS LS-bashing normally aspirated light-as-likely Gen-5 Camaro, at a BOSS LS-matching price point, several 1000 "dead Presidents" below the all-conquering ZL1.

... may I respectfully suggest if we upgrade the LS3's performance then we wouldn't have a need for the Z/28 second level entry to out perform the boss for MY13. As mentioned, if the 1LE SS can hold it's own, what would the Z/28 be for. That's why they will not build it now <MY13> With the suspension tweeks given to the 1LE it will be a solid track performer, my main contention is leaving the LS3 at it's current HP level of output when we know it has a much higher level of potential. If GM recertified the LS3 with with some internal upgrades on an assembly line version to reduce costs then the additional HP gains would far surpass the boss with the suspension tweaks already in place. I want the Z28 as badly as you, and others...but it's like a staircase I have come to realize, we must take one step at a time. It's a process...a work in progress....

I am still putting my money on the new engine for the Z/28 in MY 13 1/2 or 14..like someone stated before, the camaro has debuted new engines before and not just the corvette I don't see why it can't be any different now
