As some of you guys don't have a air flow bench how can you say any thing on what happens when the blade is in the Air stream? Why do you guys have your heads worked to remove the obstructions in the runners? is this not the same thing?.

In a N.A. motor the straightest path is the best..

In bold ^^^ is important to me. This is why I like the VMax and VR air intake and SOLO cats.

You are right about all of the hypothesizing. Plus the pricing can't be that much and Vararam has always had the best money back guarantee on their intakes.

Interesting read for all the opinions. This is for V8 only from what I read on Vararam's posts, but it still made me curious to read the whole "snake oil" or not debate.

This has been fun to watch

And to the OP, we've seen your testing before and you really apprear to do a solid job. I guess you knew ahead of time that this type of item was going to bring out some interesting opinions.

Here's to your bravery

I try.

Great thread. Fun read. Lots of skeptics here and others that are open to seeing more about this product make this interesting. I think both positions are good to see here. So to keep the debate rolling, I'm saying that I can see where the theory behind this appears valid. GM has tilted the snout of the IM up as a compromise to clear different water pump configurations on different car types. Removing this compromise could show a gain.

On my old truck i paid 100 bucks for the tbs. It was not worth it. they can claim it does this and does that, but it won't. I will not believe it, even if someone puts it on a dyno, but i know it won't help unless there's monkeying in the system, just a warning , i know vararam makes good products, but this item should be on no camaro, put the money towards a more meaningful mod.

It's not really a TBS like you put on your old truckMore of a TBD (to be determined)

Hmmm TBDA - throttle body degreeing adapter.

Now for sure your man card will be suspended, if you had a clue and knew what was what you'd know those guys would NEVER sell you a damn "super wedge"!!

Hey hey hey I never said that they would sell me a super wedge!! I was talking about the vmax because someone basically said people who buy vmax throttle bodies are fools. I'm not even saying I'll buy the super wedge lol I'm saying I would like it if it could be proven buy outside sources.

In a N.A. motor the straightest path is the best..

Flowbench numbers don't tell you everything. You can hog out a set of heads to flow like the amazon river but will lose HP, over stock, on a motor. It's all in how you do it. The main problem with your analysis is, what did they do to increase flow? The TB is still the same size, the TB blade is in the same place within the TB, and the intake inlet is still the same size. They just redirected the air path by a few degrees. There are several questions here that haven't been answered. Why did GM tilt the TB to begin with? It appears as though they did it on purpose. Does the LSXR intake tilt the TB as well? If not, that's a direct relationship to this wedge. We all know the gains, or lack of, with it.

Does the wedge actually give a more straight air path to the runner inlets?
