This is because it is mostly middle aged men that can afford them. Corvette owners do not have to worry about their cred, unless all of their friends are Porsche owners.

I was 28 when I bought my 2007 C6 Z51 with .04 miles on the clock. But even then I wouldn't own another and the 2006 GTO I traded in as well as my cars afterword were/are more fun.

The C7 is a very different and much improved car than the C6. But owning a Camaro is big fun nd way more affordable than a Stingray.

And of course affordable is an individual thing. Some are willing to spend a big portion of their $$ on a car, others not, and many others cannot.

They are going to have some pretty pissed off friends seeing a Z51 Stingray can run with the porsche in every category and cost sooo much less.

Cody what are you driving now that is more fun than an 07 Z51? Please don't say something stupid like a WRX or Audi

I'm 25 years old, I'll take a Corvette any day of the week.

I owned two different Z06's, an 04, and 08. I would say that now more than ever they are an old mans car. Only those born into money or a fat inheritance can afford one. It takes most half a lifetime to get to a point at which you can pay for a car like that. Not to mention the insurance costs to younger drivers. I currently have a 2013 CR Metallic ZL1. While I love the car, it does not compare to the 08 in its overall drivability at the track. Lighter car obviously had better braking ability, turn in, and acceleration in light of 75 fewer hp. The Camaro is a much better looking car though, and that includes the comparison to new Stingray. It will cost me about 10-15000 to get performance near Z06, but that is half of the fun. I look forward to doing the mods on my car myself. When done I will have the best of both worlds. Love my ZL1.

Huh? There's only been one Vette that broke the 100k mark, man. I'm 32 and I could easily afford two of them. I was neither born into money or have ever gotten any inheritance. I think you're over stating things by a vast margin. The type of car you're describing has a prancing horse on the back
