3.6 LFX to 4.6 stroker kit???

I hadn't seen this yet, thought it would be worth pointing out here. Sorry if repost.

Was browsing the Colorado/Canyon forums when I came across a post where Trifecta is claiming they are working on a stroker kit.

Quote:
We have a 4.6L forged rotating assembly stroker kit for the GM 3.6L LFX engine; validation pending:

I don't know anything else about it, and I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen anything about it here yet. No clue how far they are on this, or if it will ever see the light of day.

Thoughts?

I'm no stroking expert but 3.6 to 4.6 seems a bit much

It does sound like it could be a little much. But if it's something that could be used in the lfx with success in our cars I'm totally for it!

Stroker kit changes the crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons. It will lengthen the stroke of the engine, thus increasing the displacement.

One of the popular V8 stroker kits takes a 350 engine to a 383. So the increase is 33 Cubic inches.

My guess the information is on the internet somewhere. Checking for further information now.

Found it:

That could be pretty cool, I wonder where that would put the redline at..

It does seem like a big jump. I'd like to see more.

I want this so bad! Forged internals and a tourqe boost! I bet this would go great with fi , I'm assuming this would change the sound of your engine alot? Since it adds another liter

wow that is pretty much the size of a small V8 so yea I think the sound of it will be a huge difference.

I'm guessing this will be very expensive. Looking at the one picture, the block has been sleeved. I had previously contacted Darton about a product to suit this engine, they do have a modular integrated deck sleeve that will work they will sell to the tune of $~1900 for just the sleeves, then you have to have them installed.

These are not Darton MID sleeves in the picture. Maybe something cheaper?

Darton said you could go to a 98mm max bore with their sleeves... Given the same assumption that they went to a 98mm max bore with whatever is going on here, they would have to increase the stroke by about .6" (~15.24mm)... So the with the increased stroke, the rods would have to get shorter because there is no way in hell to move the pin height in the piston far enough to compensate for that increase. So now you've got a 1.3602 rod/stroke ratio which is not exactly desirable.

If this is even real, I wouldn't consider putting it in a car. It's a stump puller and would not rev, and I think we aalllll know that you guys don't like low end torque gains. It's an engine fit for a truck. And it probably won't last long with that rod stroke ratio if that's about what it really is.

Bigger isn't always better.

Everyone moans and complains about the company that's supposedly bringing this to market, is it weird how they don't come around anymore, but are hot after the next big thing (colorado)... It's just weird. This has a two letter company written all over it.
