checked the charging voltage while running. 13.4 volts which is default when it's not seeing feedback from the ecm/bcm. I'll test it again with all my accessories on to be sure it doesn't drop any lower than that. if it does, I will replace. voltage regulator to something that can self excite.

vacuum leak- traced it to the throttle body. the junk iac motor has the Pintle hanging open pulling air from in front of the blade. going to have the hole welded shut and just use timing vs coolant temp for idle control.

installed the coolant loop on the water pump so we should be back in business to get back to tuning. I'm going to pick up a set of weatherpack crimpers and connectors and finish all my wiring this weekend/next week.

finally feel like I'm making progress with the car
I had an issue with voltage in my car and a friend's car that adding a 4 gauge ground wire from the front bolt on the alternator to a bare metal spot on the frame rail resolved. Another buddy who had starter issue added a ground to the starter and fixed it. Easy to do before you chase you tail throwing parts at it

I have a ground strap from the engine to body. battery ground to same chassis mount as engine. I'll try to load all my accessories and make sure they don't drop voltage. if it does, it's $28 for the regulator. would just be the point of pulling it off and soldering it in. I could even go as far as using an external regulator I suppose.

I feel ya though. that starter pissed me off, like a lot. Definitely wasted money.

added the second heim and bracing to the steering column so that's done. added a relay for the fan, and the fan on the trans cooler. started the car up and the high idle is fixed now. idle is back down to 900-1000rpm

started making the rear window as well. picked up a 48" x 48" sheet of .093 lexan and a roll of sponge tape to help prevent rattling, and give it a waterproof seal. the jerry bickel countersunk tool works flawlessly. went ahead and ordered a can of his lexan border paint as well. will probably use .177 for the front window along with a support brace or 2 down the center. might add one to the back if it doesn't stiffen up being so thin and flexible

ordered everything to start making deutsch connectors for the rest of my wiring.

I'll have to take another video! I'll upload it tomorrow for sure. sounds way better than it did in the original startup video I had posted a few pages back.

Thank you. it definitely needs some fuel taken out of it as you can see it start to puddle in the downpipe on a rev

finished mounting the rear window. it's held in by (24) 10-24 bolts. takes like 2 minutes to pull. still need to add the sponge tape and prep/paint the border. I still need to add a center support. the turbo bullet page on fb agree after posting a video of the flex.

got the deutsch connector kit today, going to make a nice plug and play deal for the steering wheel buttons.

threw in about a quart of antifreeze concentrate and a whole bottle of water wetter for corrosion protection and coolant Temps.

summit warrantied my braille battery and sent me a replacement which I received yesterday.

Went ahead and bought a 4x8 sheet of. 177 thick lexan fron home depot. Had enough to do the windshield and redo the rear window. Now I don't need to add a support for the rear. I probably still will for the front. I got some 1/2" square tubing to do that. Prepped and painted the edges.

Got with Scott Clark again and we finished the base tune. Car idles nicely at 900rpm. Coolant temps don't go over 190 at idle. We will see how it does driving around.

Final outcome of the back window. Front window is done as well. I'm waiting to install until all the wiring is done and verified before I put it in. Not trying to get it scratched up.

Last thing to purchase is this damn expensive shifter. Then it's off to the streets for some chassis/engine tuning.
