Anyone Else Scared Of...
I've had my car now for only 24 hours and the weather here in Virginia has been TERRIBLE! The funny thing is, though, is that the weather doesn't really scare me.

It's a car.
If something happens, you fix it or replace it. Things can be replaced. Loved ones can't. Relax and enjoy it. |

Don't stress out too much and just enjoy it!
I had my windows tinted the other week and the day after I found a minor scuff on the back bumper and it probably happened in the shop but in the end it's just a car...Yes a car that I spent $38,000 for (after taxes) but things happen so I'm just dealing with it...Yeah when I noticed it I said "aw damnit that sucks" and then realized the same thing - that it's just a car and moved on Just enjoy it as much as you can and insure it! There's nothing else you can do

I have been fighting the same deamons as this is my first new car. I always park where I can see it. I honked at some guy with a leaf blower doing landscape stuff because he was blowing debris my way when I was driving by. I usually take two parking spaces now wherever I can. I mostly go places that have parallel parking. Then I got my first rock chip! Argh! With less than 1000 miles. Once it gets its first blemish and you learn to get past it and realize. It's never going to be new again. You will begin to deal with it better. So do the best you can and enjoy the car. If not you will stress yourself to death.

I picked up my car on a Monday. Tuesday I took it to a window tinter with 201 miles on it. When I picked it up and got home I cleaned & waxed it. I found a 10 inch long razer cut on the right rear fender near the gas cap. I have had it wet sanded to no avail. It cut past the paint. I am as OCD as you can get. The car was flawless when I took delivery. Window tint place says they couldn't have done it.???????

You better look out the window and make sure it is still there (and the wheels)!
No really. I feel for you man! |

I don't know about anybody else, but this car feels like it is very safe and stable in the rain and wet road conditions. My '04 Monte Carlo handled pretty good in these weather conditions, but the Camaro just feels right.
Now parking lots is a different story. I haven't left my car in a lot for more then a few minutes and only a few times and that is to pick up a quick lunch and back into the car. At this one place I go to get lunch sometimes, I park next to a Vette that is usually there and the other day I parked between 2 Vettes. It looked like the Camaro had his two big brothers sitting on either side of him looking out for him.

I felt like you did in the beginning, and then I realized that I needed to just drive and enjoy my car, and not worry so much about the rest...
Although, it is hard sometimes.... But just drive it and enjoy it...life is too short to "sweat the small stuff"... I know, I know, "easier said than done"....

I agree with the above. "Things can be fixed or replaced."
Just enjoy the car. - X

Im in Richmond..weather crappy...nasty dampness & rain.. but Ive had mine for lil while.. unfortunately I scuffed the rght wheels in tight locations.. had a guy buff the front, working on fixing-buffing the rear myself.. but its not noticable, unless look very closely.. but the car still looks great..its seen a few scratches.. but as all say its really impossible to keep NEW if your gonna drive it.
So drive it. Enjoy it. Otherwise no sense of even buying it.... |

The sun finally came out here in DFW after about 2 weeks of rain. I know the feeling as the Camaro is currently our 3rd car, until the lease runs out on one of the others. I finally caved and said screw it and drove it a few times in the rain the last couple of weeks. I was thrilled to take it to the car wash last night.
I have a friend who used to say that he bought the car to drive it, now look at it. |

So what I am saying, relax, take precautions - like parking away from tight parking spots & shopping carts, But Ennjoy the car. If something happens, get it fixed.
