I plug it in that way it charges the phone at the time instead of using Bluetooth. Only a couple bucks for a plug, they have them in different lengths, Walmart, radio shack etc...
That's got to be the easy part, though in my case it's have to be a flashdrive.

My son has suggested this sort of thing to me, without realizing how difficult it would be for me to actually operate it in the car. Even stopped, it'd be a PITA to have to put the reading glasses on in order to read whatever display and scroll through some list or menu. Six CD's in the box and I'm going to need to make a pit stop for me before they all get played. Swap the stuff that's already played then.

I went to visit my dad today. He had torn his towel bar down & out the bar part into his cabinet. He reached in & pulled it out while I was there. Worried he would hurt himself or someone else I gave it to the staff. I also found a broken cabinet handle in his room but none of his were missing. I gave it to staff too. I handed him one of his Ensures & either it tasted good to him or he was really hungry/thirsty but he drank it right down. I was glad. He is getting so skinny. He was taking a walk around the hall when I got there so I walked with him then we sat & talked for a while in his room. Well, it had the sound of a conversation but not one complete logical sentence. My cousin had brought dad's sister & her husband to visit dad earlier in the day. That was nice. Aunt Dot has Alzheimer's too. I bet that was some odd sounding discussion.

I bought myself a couple of workout outfits. Mine were looking pretty sad. I'll wait a while then get a couple more of the short pants versions. I have my sports injury (prevention) assessment & computerized fitness assessment & planning on April Fools Day. Continuing my dance aerobics class on Mon, Wed & Fri and some sprint, walk, fast walk laps, then will add some weight work once the assessments are done. This extra 20lbs is going to be history!

It shouldn't take that long to accomplish this. If my mother can do it at 75 years young, then you can too.

Convert the songs to a digital format like MP3 with a computer, and drag them on to the USB stick. Done.

It is that first part, converting them that gets us. And for folks who grew up with great stereo systems, they sound like crap.

Time to hit it for another week. First I need my coffee. Have a good week crew.

I recall back in the 60's my dad was showing his dad how you can preset your radio stations by pulling the button out, then back in..... "Well. ain't that sumpthin, what will they think of next?"

Get a usb flash drive, have your son put all your music on it, plug it in to the usb inside the arm rest, and it should play just like a cd, only with a thousand songs instead of 10.

..... just forget the idea of finding a particular song, let it play and enjoy.

I don't think I'd have any problem with the copying procedure itself. But the volume of effort required would be a different matter entirely. I quit updating a spreadsheet list of what I did have at somewhere north of 500 CDs. My son lives in a Kenworth anyway, so if it could ever get done at all it's going to have to be by me.

It's mainly on trips where I'll play CDs, so I can listen to what I want to listen to (or what fits the driving situation better). If I've got my mind set on listening to the Scorpion's "Pure Instinct" album, I probably wouldn't be interested in hearing any John Denver or Ricky Nelson, and vice-versa. Around town a few miles at a time, I just leave it on FM. I don't see that changing.

My 2014 Camaro doesn't have a CD player either. I have an MP3 player that my son-in-law downloaded 700 of my favorite songs for me and I play that in the USB port in the center console. I have a '97 TA with a 12-disk CD changer in the back. You could probably take your car to an audio place and have a CD changer installed. Just a thought.

I took all my 100s of CDs and saved them to my music. Then I put them on my iPod and added some songs I didn't have CDs for through iTunes. I love my iPod and put it on shuffle. If you have the steering wheel controls you can advance the songs if you are not in the mood for a particular one. Otherwise, if you don't want it to shuffle it goes through alphabetically. I do have a CD in there, just in case I'm in the mood for a certain artist. Just got to get into the 21st century....

Just get you one Skip. Like was said earlier, you can get a CD changer put under the seat & put 5 CD's at a time in there & drive & listen to your heart's content.

If the sound quality is bothering you, rip at 320k. You won't be able to hear a difference from a cd in the car. You can also make playlists if you only want to hear a certain genre at a certain time.

There's no need to have your entire music collection in the car. Just pick a few hundred for traveling. One custom cd can hold maybe 18 songs, a tiny 4 GB thumb drive can hold 400 at 320k, or 100 at full cd quality. Plus you can go to song #19 without waiting 10 seconds for the disk to change.

Yeah, but you are speaking Greek to us. If only I had a kid to do stuff for me & then teach me how to use it. They are all hyped at work wanting us to use this Bluejeans app to video conference. I HATE IT!!!!!! Everyone looks so awful on those stupid cameras & It is just frustrating to try to figure it all out. Please tell me what is wrong with a conference call. Why in the heck do we need to see those dumb distorted images of each other?

Just an average day at work & got all my notes done. Then off to my exercise class. I'm wiped out now & probably will hit the sack early.

Jan - just draw a picture of yourself with a few Crayolas and set that for the camera to see instead. Guaranteed amusement for all.
