NOPE - the AFM lifters are not a problem unless you go FI

Don't need to replace lifters yet. Once you cam the car, F/I, or even spray Nitrous then replace them.

Forced Induction - ie. Supercharger or Turbo.

In other circles FI = fuel injection, but that's not how it's being used in this case.

Great information, can someone please explain why the lifters have to changed for a cam or FI. What else would need to be changed internally when going FI

I'd love to hear a better explanation for why a F/I car would need to replace the AFM lifters. Now, if you're increased the maximum engine speed, adding a cam and/or upgrading the valve-springs then sure, I can absolutely see where the added seat pressure and strain on the valve-train necessitates replacing those lifters. But a blower on a stock motor, not sure why the AFM lifters are an issue. It's probably typical to tune the AFM out in that application, but I'm not sure why the lifters would need to be replaced.

They are not needed on a stock FI build. They are recommended. It is more related to engine speed and cam profile than FI or not.
