New Streetable Bogarts????
Yes!!
A few weeks ago I sent my rear 16's back to Rich to he could inspect them for the upcoming season. They had taken some abuse from leaving with the nitrous. Once he recieved them he called me with an idea that he wanted to try. Everyone knows how freaking soft the drag wheels are. They get damaged in mounting tires and even during shipping. What Rich is going to do, with mine being the test pieces, is use a road racing outer and the drag racing inner. The outer shell will be made from 6061 and should be near bullet proof. Which will elimate the bending and allow street driving. The inner will still be the light weight drag shell. The 6061 will add roughly 2 lbs but will be worth it will the added durability. I should have mine by the end of next week and will take some pics when arrive at Teds. |

So what happens when they fall apart under those hard launches you are doing? LOL In all seriousness has this been tested that there aren't any integrity issues?

My lca's were hitting the wheels which ground a groove into the inner. All that was needed was a little more lca clearance in our part. As far as I know I'll be testing them out. We will find out a bunch if we can mount a brand new slick on them without any issues.

so i guess normally on their street wheels they just use the same heavier barrel on the inner and outer?
I know they have had what they call their street wheel for a while, but it is said to be heavier, and CHEAPER aswell.. From what i understand the difference is yours will be a hybrid? drag inner? street outer? or is this barrel different from what they have been using? and lastly, got the drag bar installed yet? |

Ha! I just went to Fed Ex this am to grab the drag bar. The 40" of snow last Friday pretty much screwed everything up. I'll bring it to Ted tomorrow. As for the wheels, this one will be only a couple lbs heavier than a full out drag wheel but have the outer strength of a road racing wheel. You were correct. Drag inner, road outer. I have a feeling that they won't be any cheaper but you get what you pay for!! |

Man... and I just finally ordered my skinnies
Oh well, glad there might be a better street option soon. I drove a bunch of times on the street with the backs last year but I did try to only take roads I know pretty well to avoid anything that could damage the rims.

I would not daily drive on Bogarts if they are built the same way they did them for the 4th gens.

Could always do what I did last year and do both... 22's is the front, 17's in the back (as pictured in Sig) - Redneck fun at its finest
