ZL1 driver side seat creak??
Anyone else have this ANNOYING issue? It started creaking about three weeks ago. When you press your back against the seat it creaks. I took it to the dealer about two weeks ago, and of course it stopped doing it when the service manager looked at it, the entire drive to the dealer it was creaking! Dealer said they couldn't do anything since he couldn't hear it. Now it is doing it every time I'm in the car.
If I put my hand on the plastic part (where it has the power controls to the seat) I can feel the creak.

Took it to the dealer told them about the TSB, service manager didn't do anything said he can't hear it This was two weeks ago, I'm going to go in (again) tomorrow and see what they will do. If they don't do anything I'll just order the part.

They will never be able to fix it. They did evething in their power to fix mine, including a whole new seat and it still squeaks. It's a problem and their fix is to move the seat up a bit. GM offered to buy the car back from me becasue of this but I declinded as I love the car too much. Last edited by nyrfan; 10-15-2013 at 09:36 AM. |

Maybe a free upgrade to the recaros is in order haha. Solution, remove the seat, take a rubber mallet to the front pockets that the seat sits in and re-install. Repeat if necessary.

Adjusting the seat location forward or backwards a little can fix this sometimes.
My 2010 SS did this but my ZL1 does not?

I had a creak in my driver seat back when I first got my 2010. I doubt your problem is the same as mine, but I figure I'd share what mine was.
The creak I had was very slight, but was noticeable w/o the radio on. I finally figured out that it came from the female seatbelt fastener. Whatever bushings they used were doing the creaking. So every time I moved with the seatbelt fastened, it would creak. I sprayed a little WD40 in there and aired it out... no more creak. If I can find the thread I posted about it, I'll link it. I believe others had a similar problem. Edit: Couldn't find my original post, but doing a search did find me this (which might help)... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5962473&postcount=35
