Question Steering wheel removal - where do springs go?

I had my steering wheel off today doing a HUD install. While it was off, I pulled the trim bezel as mine never fit quite right on the left side. When I pulled the bezel off, it came off quite abruptly. When it did, the metal plate that sits in the middle of the wheel came off also (there are wires connecting it to the controls on the bezel. Two springs popped out. They are both about 1/2" - 3/4" long, and about 3/8" - 1/2" wide. One is white and one is blue. I have no idea where they go.

Can anybody please help me out and tell me where they go? I've searched here, and the internet in general, and can't even find them on parts diagrams.
