620HP Estimated Quartermile times

Hi Everyone,
My names Ken and this is a first time post here. So I finally picked up the best car im ever going to own. a 2010SS, which has had a brand new LSA swapped into it. The guy gave me a bit of a rundown on the list of mods done to it, cam, injectors, bigger fuel pump, possibly a couple of other things to the motor but not sure. Coilovers and bigger brakes also. Apparently was tuned to 620hp at the wheels on 98 fuel. Absolute beast. So what i was wondering was, given that it really is 620hp what sort of quartemile times should that be able to do? Im no where near a drag strip to find out for myself but would really like to have an idea just how fast it is. Look forward to your repliesThanks guys

What's next, estimated race outcomes? Estimated winner's circle speeches? Trailer it, drive it, somewhere where you can get an actual time. But I'll 'estimate' 14's. That should get ya off the couch!

Yeah, the desktop time slip is the least accurate.

I would look at times from Gen 5 ZL1's running similar power.

Welcome to the forum.

Hey Ken - good to have you here. All the mods that you mentioned and not a word about tires/trans/suspension - which will likely have more to do with your quarter mile time than the amount of power the car makes. Seriously.

I've seen plenty of 600whp 5th gens go 14's, and plenty with 400ish go 11's - your ability to put the power down has everything to do with how you'll perform at the track. A bench raced time slip isn't good for much anyways, but with some more info we can take better "shots in the dark."

I have similar power to you.
To start out you will probably be in the 12's most of the time with street tires, and some 13's when you spin too much.
With drag radials you will still be in the 12's with too much wheel spin as a rookie getting close to 11's.
Once you start to get comfortable you will be in the 11's consistantly.
Pushing the rpm up at the launch to try to get into the elusive 10 second club you will dead hook, and break the diff/axles/driveshaft. (I had upgraded axles, and broke the diff and driveshaft)
Then upgrade the drivetrain to ZL1 stuff(Done).
Going to the track this Friday to see what it will do now. so far 11.4 is my best.
Hoping to get a 10 sec slip on Friday????

I would estimate 10s if you can hookup and put the power to the pavement.

It's not the horsepower....it's the driver.

Frankwjr - sorry what is dding? And why do you suggest 93 tune? I though these things needed 98 standard?.

Car has the upgraded 6sp manual aswel as coilover suspension and brakes. Only has 265 street tyres at the moment but want to round up some fatter drag wheels soon. I think thats is about all i can think of. Yes I relise the question is a hard one to give an accurate answer but really just after an idea what it could do given traction and a good driver. I plan on taking it to a track one day to find out for myself, but alot of kilometers and time between now and then. Thanks for all the replies guys, enjoyed reading them.

98 octane may be correct depending on where he lives. Over in Europe there fuel goes by a different rating. I Believe 93 octane = 98 ron.
