Along with the fuel line would be safe. All kinds of options...

LSA ProMeth Setup cont.

Today, during my break, did the wiring setup.

I took the harness which comes with the AEM Meth Controller and wired up:

The pump power/ground (pink,orange):

I used 'quick connect' wiring that is 16 gauge:

The Power/ground for the unit(red, black battery - always on):

Quick Connect here again but the 'opposite' side

Level switch (white, brown):

WeatherPack connector

'Blue' wire is Map (0-5v) signal for boost
'Yellow' Wire is 'switched' power -- no fuse as the unit has one

'Gray' and 'Violet' wires are for LED (Gray is ground, Violet is power).

Brown/white trace wire and the Green wire are not used.

Next, I'll locate the controller, run the yellow and blue wires to the engine compartment. After that, I'll run the wires for the LED (so I can see if I'm low on meth - flashing 1 flash @ a time).

Then, add connectors to the tank (pump, level switch) and run the wiring to the trunk.

I'll be looking to see what is the 'best' approach for running the line -- favoring running it inside along the driver's side...

LOL... Yup I remember now and it happens all the time. Hard to tie the Avitar/Username to the people you know and see every year at the event. It's like you know two completely different people in two different formats if you know what I mean.

And my drinking didn't start until Saturday and Sunday night... Maybe Monday to..

OK, added connectors to the tank for the Low Level switch:

And pump:

Next will be the 'power' wiring from the battery, then will do the tank setup...

Now I too can place a face to the posts...

Your attention to detail is stunning, but I’m sure you’ve been told that before...

I’ll say this... I dealt with a many a meth head in my time as a paramedic. Messing with meth is bad for your teeth... rots em right out...

Ha, I bet meth does ;o) but the engine is already 'toothless' so it will just suck it all in and blow it out its....

Yep face to the name - now you'll wish you never saw it...

OK, today I did the tank mounting. I decided to use the rivnuts to make sure the tank stayed in place.

First, I set the tank in place then marked the hole 'closest' to the rear seat. Marked it with a punch, then drilled a pilot hole. Once I 'centered' the hole and the tank, I went ahead and drill out 25/64 and installed the rivenut:

After that I bolted down the tank into position, then marked the 'second' hole, moved the tank, drilled the pilot hole, then, re-positioned everything to validate the holes would be centered:

Drilled it out (noted the 'blue' glue used by the factory) and then setup the rivnut:

Bolted down the tank to confirm she works!:

Yea, that works!

Next I'll need to lay down the trunk carpet, put holes in for the tank bolts, get 'hex' bolts, pull the rear seat out, route the wiring and hose...

I went with rivnuts so I could be sure to have a 'solid' hold on the tank and not move or come loose during racing...

Well, went ahead and cut the carpet so I could mount the tank — just to see...

Planning next round!

MOVE the sub woofer ;o)!

Power always wins...

I like how it looks 'factory', one of the reasons I went with Rodney's stuff...

As Mark (ABADZL1) noted, rivnuts are aero -- and I found them very useful when I did the plane... top notch stuff...

Took the rear seat out tonight. Bottom part — no problem, upper part, it was just easier to remove the 4 bolts and center nut. What a pain to remove (for one person) using the spring locks.

So, next I’ll remove the side panel drivers side and route the wiring first. Once that is set, I’ll do the fuel line...

Options options....

Took it for a drive while the seat is out — contemplating a rear seat delete for more cargo space — kinda noisy with no seat...

Well, did some research on Windshield Washer fluid and Meth.

Here is what I found:

-25 degree 'blue' Windshield Washer Fluid from South/Win, LTD is ~40% meth. So many places sell that (Walmart being one of them) but, I needed to find a place I could order and get it from.

In comes Napa. If I get this version:

https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/WWTMINUS25

I'm getting a good amount of meth included.

This is the data sheet and how I found the info:

https://media.napaonline.com/is/cont...14146pdf?$PDF$

This shows the ~ratio -- you'll see its ~40% meth even though its a 'trade secret' noted in the above doc (look for South/Win and -25 in the image below -- that is the make-up):

Can't find the Pitt-Penn -- that is the one to get if you can! ~45%!

Anyway, the NAPA brand is 2.99 per gallon for 40% meth -- not bad and is a great start. Anything lower than -25 and I've found they add glycol to it -- not what we want.

I really want to be closer to 50% - So, I started looking at HEET (in the yellow bottle):

This is 100% meth in 12 oz form. I found it for 1.77 on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/28201-Gas-Lin.../dp/B0016GXNC4

Now if I bought 26 of those vs the 24 pack, I save .07 cents YET I get 24 oz (2 bottles) more -- go figure ;o)

So, if I use 104 oz of WWF and 2 bottles (24 oz) of HEET, I'll have almost 55% meth!

So that would make it $6.53 per gallon -- and that's not bad for ~55% meth!

I could remove a quart of WWF and use 32 oz of HEET and I'd get closer to 60%

I think this is a cheaper way to go vs buying the pre-made mix. Now, I'm hoping to find meth in 5 gallon pails here -- that would make it even cheaper for sure, but this is not bad and its a bit more available...

This is the link that started it all:

FYI 49% meth mix (Snow boost juice) is ~$8 a gallon... sometimes it’s easier to just buy pre mixed...
