6th Gen Camaro Reveal in Detroit May 16th

Checked the calendar and I'm off the May 16th weekend of the 6th Gen Camaro reveal on Belle Island near Detroit. Seems like a good excuse for an early roadtrip if anyone is up for it? I've already RSVP'd a spot. Following the link tells Canadians to go to GM Canada's website (didn't see any ifo there) or to contact their GM dealer. I used my US address to register. Space is apparently limited with preference being given to those bringing their Camaros. Parade laps on the Gran Prix track, hots laps as a passenger with a pro driver in a Z28!

"We have reached capacity at this time. We will be revisiting this at the end of April."

CTV NEWS Toronto, this evening, reported the following:

- GM picking up their muscle car and moving it to Michigan.

- The 6th Gen Camaro WILL be revealed on May 16, 2015.

- No news on the fate of GM's Oshawa Assembly plant to replace this change.

I truly hope that NO ONE loses their job over this change, I know a few people who work their, and it would also be a blow to the area economy.

I think they mentioned that a large number of the plant workers are eligible for retirement.
Unless they replace the Camaro with another car, I can't see them needing everyone.

Apparently I live in another Eastern time zone, because I tried to register before 8:00 am. LOL

The registration website when live at midnight, and the available spots for Camaro fans were filled by 8:30 AM Eastern. By the end of the day an additional 800 people joined the wait list to attend. All told, the customers who registered or are on the wait list represent 40 of the 50 U.S. States.

Chevrolet will contact those who registered, or are on the wait list, in the coming weeks with more information. For those that cannot attend in person, we will be regularly posting updates and a live webcast of the event on www.the**************. "
