The owners manual should provide all the info that you need. If you plan on tracking your car your maintenance schedule might be different.

Every new car/truck/bike I have owned (and its a lot) I have changed the oil at 1k miles then every 3k after that. Never had any issues with them after that. Use the recommend oil in the owners manual (synthetic is best) and you will be fine.

That is no longer the case (and it never was). And I would hope you didn't have any issues, especially when you are changing the oil that often. Every 3k is one of those myths pushed by the Oil companies that many of us took as fact. Not too mention the advances in technology between 50 years ago and now.

Recommended oil change interval is 7,500 miles.

My car will be lucky to do 3000 miles a year so I plan on changing once a year before I take it out for the summer.

Sent from the road.

My thoughts exactly. Only 3500 miles so far this year for me. I will have it changed in the Spring before I start driving it again.
