New Rear Ground Effects Piece?

Actually, this is less a question, because I guess I found out that the GFX has changed.

As many of you know, I got in an accident a couple of weeks ago, and it has finally been repaired. It's in the shop again today to get 3 things fixed that they didn't do because they released the car to me early for over last weekend.

Anyways, one thing they told me was the rear GFX piece was different, and it is. I kind of like the new look, and am ok with it, but I am also a little disappointed that they would cease making an original body part like that.

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but I missed the thread if it was. I'll post some pics later today when I get my car back.

oops, well I guess it was an accessory, not a factory part and that's why they justified not making any more of the old version?

What is different the rear piece is the same since release unpainted with the stainless trim rings, and now painted body colored with the stainless trim rings. If you do not have the trim rings (squares) or they are built in as one piece sounds like it's an aftermarket piece. We will only be able to tell when you post pics.

Thanks
Sean

Edit: Ignore this. I was totally misremembering the look and seeing things that weren't there. See the pictures below.

Actually, the style is completely different. Instead of the plastic curving and going all the way down, there are now "slots" in the bottom center between the two exhaust enclosures. I'll show some before/after pictures later when I get the car back from the shop.

OK, I was just going over what the guy at the body shop said. He mentioned something about the color...And looking at the pictures, the old GFX looks to have a darker color at the bottom between the two exhaust tips. I no longer have the old piece, so maybe someone can confirm this?

Back in May, before being replaced:

Probably because of the lighting...flash went off for that picture so they show up better.

OK, let me see if I can explain this better...because I didn't quite understand at first what the repair guy said. He said that there were two colors on the old GFX (I think), and that the new part was just the same color.

Looking at the pictures, I think what he was saying is true...but I wouldn't mind eyeballing the old GFX part to make sure. Maybe someone that has the origina GFX could post up a better picture. I couldn't find a good lighted version of the old one.

This picture shows the area where I think the old piece is darker.
