Nah, it's certainly not the end of the world and, as mentioned by someone else, wisdom and experience usually comes at a high price. I learned. I've had some fun in the Rubicon so far. It'll be nice to actually be able to leave my driveway when it snows this winter lol. In a perfect world, I'd have both -- the Jeep for "utility" and the Camaro to put a smile on my face. Maybe one day it'll happen.

We have purchased countless Chrysler vehicles in the past, and then we had one situation with the 2.7L Magnum on a Stratos. After that complete debacle with the car, the dealership, a seized motor, a new block, and poor Chrysler commentary afterwards, we also swore to never buy another. We have stuck to our guns over the past 7 years now.

Chrysler makes nice looking vehicles, but as you found out, many lack excitement, and heaven forbid if you want any kind of post-sale service from Chrysler corporate. :(

Sounds like you might be back to a Camaro before you know it.

As a fan for both, the Jeep can be a lot of fun depending on your plans for it... I've had a '97, '00, '03, '07 Wrangler (wife owns an '09) and I plan on ordering a 2012 very soon. Some of that has to do with were I work (Quadratec), but if there are legal off road parks in your area, you can see why the Rubicon is the Wrangler to own.

Most Jeep owns aren't arrogant, but there is a bit of snobbery amongst the different generations and different packages... CJ>YJ>TJ>JK>XJ, Rubicon vs. all other Wranglers, Built vs. Bought kinda like V8 vs V6 or the soon to be SS vs ZL-1. Most of it is in good fun, but a few on JK-Forum and JKOwners take things way too seriously.

I really wish Jeep would do another Camp Jeep :(

BTW... Let's see some pics

me and my '97 to the far right

Have fun modding your jeep while you can. in a few years, get a used camaro again.

I suggest you join jeepforum.com if you haven't. I'm a member there and they're not too bad. They were friendly and helpful to me when I started work on my '87 YJ.

you bought a jeep= Just Emptied Every Pocket... and ive had two and they are great, but they are a way different breed, if you take your jeep, which is meant to be an offroad vehicle offroading im pretty sure your heart will skip more than a few beats...

I did the reverse, had a offroad beast of a modded tacoma and moved it onto the dealer for my RJT SS, and to get my thrills offroad picked up a rodeo on craigslist to be the crap out of when I need to tear up some gravel or desert. Best move I ever made. But I do feel for ya, and know what you mean about the feeling when you look at it. I say when your loan gets even with the jeep value, move it and get back to the camaro world. Good Luck

Lol, I did the same a few months ago. I lasted only about two months with a new Silverado. Took a bit of a loss but got my Camaro back. Never again this baby stays with me until i can replace it with another or a ZL1.

My dad got a brand new Dodge Ram 2300 Diesel, it's rattled since the day he bought it. Sure my car has rattles but I know exactly what I have to do to fix them and since they were caused by me I have no reason to be pissed over it. I will never buy another Mopar vehicle ever.... I drive a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade and it's great though lol

You're right. To be fair, my negative impression of arrogance was based on a very few on the forums who take it far too seriously.

The only problem I can see with your choice is that you traded your Camaro for the Jeep instead of just buying the Jeep to add to your stable as many others have done, myself included.

I've got a 2009 Rubicon and a 2010 Callaway SC572 and love both as they each fill a different need.

The Jeep is my daily driver, winter beater, and go anywhere vehicle while the Camaro is my fair weather vehicle and what I drive when I have someplace special to go, be that a date, client meeting, or a quick trip to the drag strip......ok, I haven't had a chance to take it to the dragstrip yet as I only picked it up in August.

I'm actually planning on trading my '09 Rubi in for a 2012 Rubi with the new Pentastar motor.........afterall, more power is never a bad thing
