Depends on what you want to pay, I have temp heat in my home garage and I turn it on few times a week when i get home from work to get it up to 50-60 degrees in between times it never seems to get under 40 degrees. My work shop we turn off when we are out or closed and we keep it on 56-58 while we work and that doesn't get below 42 in between and that's only over very cold weekends. My father in-law has a propane permant vented forced air heater in his garage and leaves it on 65 all winter, its nice but cost extra (his guesstimate) 200$ a month.

I would say 45-50 degrees nothing will go wrong with that car even at 40 degrees if you have a thermostat that goes that low.

I have a high efficiency furnace in my garage running natural gas. I keep it at 50 degrees during the winter. I turn it up to 65 degrees when I'm in there working. 3/4's of my garage is under ground, so I'm sure that helps keep the cost down.

I have a hot dawg. I kept my 2-car garage about 50-55 the first month until I got the first power bill, which was $100 extra, on a typical $130 bill for heat and electric. I now set it about 40 unless I'm working in it. If it gets above 40 out, I set it 10 above the outside temp to keep it running and dry in the garage.
I found the digital thermostat I hooked up first to cause the heater to short-cycle at the lower temp settings. A really basic, old-school thermostat is best. |

I leave mine at 41-42 and turn it up to 51-52 when I want to go work out there.

My garage stays at around 45. When I had a heated garage it was kept around 45-50 and when I would work in it the temp was set at around 60-65.

I have a 24 x 32 shop ( 10.5' ceilings) insulated (6" ceiling)and heat it with a Hot Dawg propane furnace. I keep it at 58 all the time because I am in and out always doing something. When I am working on something I don't like it over 60, especially welding. Use a kerosene heater (23k btu)when with the guys and goofing off in shop and it will keep it toasty without the furnace going on.
By the way, I have a Harley RK also.
