What position is best for the vert top at night?

Should I be putting my top up when I get home from work or is it okay/better to keep it down over night?
Not sure if it is better for the top to be up or leave it down to lessen the wear & tear on the vert top motors.

Thoughts?

The top should always be up if it is going to be parked for a long amount of time. Repeated leaving it down will wrinkle and shrink it. My 95 Bird vert while never driven in snow or rain, always has the top up when I am not driving. It still looks new 17 years after it was installed. I read something about it back in the 80's when I had my 69 Camaro Vert.

Had a convertible top repair shop in Boston that had been around for many years tell me never leave a top down for extended periods of time.

Top up when parked for say overnight so the top doesn't crease and cause problems closing it when you really do want it closed.

Dude, do you have stray cats in your neighborhood? Do you want to find cat hair and marking spray on the interior of your car, when you come out in the morning?

Put the top up when you get home!

LOL, it's park in a garage at night.
Just wasn't sure if it was better to always put the top up when I get home and the put it down again in the morning when I leave for work.

Sounds like it's better for the top if you put it up whenever you can and wear on the convertible top motors is less of a worry.

Thanks for the feed back. I will be putting the top up whenever I park it in the garage.
I am going to go out to the garage right now to put the top up... :-)

Thanks again!

I put the top up after every trip because even though it's garaged, so much dirt gets in there

When storing my 69 and 2001 'verts for long periods, I left the top up but not latched. This allowed the top material to expand and contract as it naturally does over time.

I'll be the contrarian. I had an 03 Wrangler from around April through October the top stayed down and all scrunched up tucked behind the back seat. When winter was coming on a nice day I'd park it in sun, let it warm up and put the top back up. Top functioned and looked brand new when I sold it in January to buy my Camaro.

That said, I'll keep top up when not driving car for a few days because its so darn easy. But if I come home tonight, and I'm heading out tomorrow again, tope will stay down.
