Magnaflow woes

Does anyone else with a magna flow exhaust think theirs is a little too boomy sounding? At times it's almost as if I'm driving a ricer especially around the 2k rpm range. Is there anything I can do to correct this? I'm thinking about a resonated x pipe to tone it down a bit, but I still want tonhear that rumblenthat seems to be "smoothed" over.

I have the same problem with my SKY Magnaflow exhaust. Super drone on the highway, and as it gets older it gets worse. With the top up it is about unbearable. That is exactly why I went with SOLO on the Camaro. There were guys with the SOLO for the same 3 years I had my car, and their SOLO systems on their SKY's never changed tone and still sounded great. I am going to be switching my SKY over to a SOLO system very soon! No more headaches for me.

I've been running the Magnaflow 2 1/2" street axle-back (16581) for about 1000 miles now. It's got a nice deep tone and isn't much louder than the stock. So far very happy with it.

Just what I went through a year ago before all the systems started to come out.And alot have said the same thing, to much interior boom masking any growl from the outside, if any.I had only a custom axelback and airraid. Way to much boom, added the resonated x pipe and reduced the boom way down, but the exhaust is very quiet this way, always a trade off. My wife couldnt even hear the exhaust when I drove down our street ay low speeds!

You will like the lack of boom on the freeway though!

Me too!

I guess that it is the only V6 exhaust that booms at low RPMs and rocks at high. Combine this cat back with a CAI and you will rock n roll.

I like it!

Hey scruffy,

What type of magnaflow exhaust are you running? Their cat-back, axle-back, or custom setup?
