As far as timing chains go on the v6 the biggest problem with them is not keeping the engine oil full. These engines use some oil so you have keep after it to keep the chains alive. Also if you ever have to do the chains a good solution is to buy the Cadillac ATS-V chains used on the 3.6 V6 twin turbo engine. Check the engine oil once a week, keep it full and change it every 4500 miles and doubt you'll ever have a problem with the engine.

You’ve waited this long, so wait for what you truly want. Hell f I could drop 20k for what I want right now to fix my blown e fine and get turbos, then I would. However, I just had a kid so all my attention is on her. I actually don’t think of the camaro as much.
Don’t settle. Spend half on the house and half on the car. Lol there’s always a happy median.

Dude, wait until the used car market calms down. It's still ridiculously high, so unless you happen across a really sweet deal or you're in a jam, just wait it out. I've thought about selling my ride just because of it, but I reconsidered since I'm expecting this thing to last another 15+ years, easy. Would be nice rolling past electric cars on the highway like they're going out of style.

Ha! Yeah, I don't put more than 6k miles on my ride per year as it now stands, so 15y = 90k miles. With 57k on the clock, that comes to 147k miles. Nothing catastrophic should be occurring at that point, and I'll be knocking on Retirement's Door at that point as well. No need to go with another ride prior to that if I can help it.

God wouldn't have given us two kidneys if he didn't mean for us to sell one for parts!

Speak for your self! My luck the one I thought was good and didn’t sell would fail fairly young, then I’d be on dialysis till I decided I was ready to die

Found ours on Auto Trader three hours away in N. Jersey. The dealer had a free CarFax and a extensive photo/video layout - real helpful. You might consider purchasing a six pack of Car Fax reports(about $100) as long as you know you are shopping.

First decide on what model you would like, taking into mind your budget and other constraints. Once you've figured out how much money you have to play with, shop around for a bargain.
As far as owning a camaro, that type of advice will be a little harder to give. You have to access your driving skills and experience. If this is truly your first camaro, my general advice would be to take things slow. Learn as much about the car as you can, while you are honing your driving skills. Never take the car beyond speeds where you can properly control it. Be mindful of your driving environment and you should be fine.

Thanks, all good advice. I'll keep learning and keep looking, and have faith that if the right car, right price, right time arrives, it will be obvious.
