Gas prices will always go up, what can you do. Going to just enjoy the car and not sweat it.

Funny enough I'm in the same thoughts. Really looking at going back to 400+hp Turbo AWD goodness. Rally is in my blood. Now if an STi and the Camaro lol. no. Especially up here we can't give the oil away right now, net oil producer and $5.50 a gallon. .......really?.................. I only drove mine like 1000kms last year. Maybe I'll change my mind, maybe not.

I will probably keep driving it. I am ex military turned computer science student, but live close to school is that is a positive. I love this damn car. I do read once in a while folks saying things to the effect of "if you worry about gas you shouldn't have bought it", and all I can think is they might be slightly touched in the head so to speak. Who wouldn't worry about spending more money. You dont make money by spending it.

I still don't see the point in buying a car if you aren't going to drive it. You should plan for gas prices to go up when you buy the car and make sure you have a little extra wiggle room in your finances or you shouldn't buy the car, just my opinion. That being said, I can understand driving another car every now and then that gets better gas mileage, but I know I bought my Camaro to drive it. I have an old VW bug that gets 35mpg, and a '92 BMW that gets 25mpg, and I still choose to drive my Camaro(which has an overall average of 21mpg). Though right now I'm driving the Camaro all the time(it has the best heat). Once it warms up a bit I'll be driving one of the others every few days or so. Oh, and I'm driving 50 miles one way to work, so it's not like I only go around the corner.
And on the subject of gas prices, I'm getting it for around $3.40 for regular, though some places are at $3.70+ for regular. One benefit of the long drive, a lot of variation in prices over that drive so I can pick the lowest point.

You must have your numbers turned around here. You mean to tell me 89 octane is cheaper than 87 octane? Don't make sense to me.

Regular unleaded (87 octane) is $3.37 and premium unleaded (91 octane) is $3.76 here. My Camaro is not a daily driver, so I'll continue to drive it no matter what the price of gas goes up to. Only thing I'm worried about is what effect high gas prices will have on trade-in value.

I wanted a 1 ton dually, so I asked a guy that had one about gas milage, he simply said, if you can afford to buy one, you better be prepared to pay high fuel prices. Diesel fuel is $4.06 here.

With my foot off the gas pedal and driving sensible, my Camaro gets 21mpg and my truck gets 17mpg. I don't like the way gas prices fluctuate one day to the next, but what can you do? I ain't going to let them just sit.

My numbers are correct, in Nebraska there are several ethanol plants here. And the 89 octane has 10% ethanol in it, and making it cheaper.

Stephens' numbers aren't turned around. That's how they are here and that's the prices.

Nice! I wish I got that good of gas mileage. Only been able to muster 21.3mpg so far, and that was short lived when it dropped back down to 21.1.

Hell no. How much is a good family vacation - 3-5k? Well, this is MY vacation every time I get in, and on, it. For what... another $900/year if gas hits $5.00 over the $3.50 I pay now? BARGAIN!
