Quad tip diffuser

For those like me that have been looking for a quad tip diffuser (1LE style) I searched around and found this one from GM Parts Direct for $323.63. Item 22815277 http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm. It was the best that I could find. And thanks to Markmass for linking the tips http://tips.byethost4.com/index.html.

I was going to wait until next year to this mod, but I'm just to darm impatient.

Just cut it out you self. I used a 6 inch hole saw and cut the rest with a blade. It was real easy. The blade cut the plastic like butter. Then took it to a local muffler shop and got the mufflers installed.

I cut mine out with a saber saw and then lined the cut edges with door edge trim from AutoZone. It was a very easy mod and only took 1 hour start to finish! The quad tips are Solo dual wall stainless 3" and had a local muffler shop weld them in. Just make sure they get the tips perfect before welding in!

I don't believe you'll mess anything up. I didn't even remove the diffuser. I left it on got all the measurement to ensure a even whole for both side. Then just smoothed the edges with a blade I had to cut window tint. Really easy. Just a 6 inch whole saw and a couple of blades. Note when I cut it I didn't know that there was a metal piece of the frame that you can see once the whole was cut. But it was an easy fix. The muffler shop just cut off a piece on both sides. Did you have that problem ssmike?

You'll be glad you saved the money. It can be used for a different mod. All you have to do is buy the mufflers and install. Which still comes out cheaper than the whole diffuser.
