stripe delete / sunroof
Ok, I am sure we have discussed this somewhat before.
I have pretty much decided I won't be able to have the best of both worlds. What I mean by this is, id love to have a sunroof/moonroof. BUT, I do not think this monster of a car needs one! I gotta have the look of the stripes. In my opinion, the only way to make a sun roof look good on this car is to paint the entire top or roof of the car cut in black. But since I do not want to mod my car, I won't go this route either. To some guys a sunroof won't make any difference either way, but some it will. So to get the "look i want" I am going to have to sacrifice and not get the roof. As we mentioned in another post, if one were to add stripes to a sunroof then you would get a "cross" effect. Would look retarded at best in mho. To me, its the stripes that make this car. And chevy did it in a way that to me does not remind me of the single stripe down the middle mustang either. The ZL1 to me in its stripped (and UN-stripped) form looks great to me. You know, FBODFATHER mentioned that Zl1's are males. In this particular scenario if you add the moon roof you are cutting one of the ZL1's testicles off. My picky ass loves a moon roof don't get me wrong. I just don't think I would love it on this car is all. My car unless yall guys twist my arm somehow won't have a sunroof/moon roof. This one calls for a poll!

Mine will definitely have a sunroof and NO stripes. I am not big on vinyl stripes.

Stripe, no sunroof for me. I like the stripe look (even if it is vinyl) and I can't justify the weight and cost of the sunroof because I would rarely use it.

If I was not going to get the sunroof, I still would not order the vinyl stripes. But, I most likely would have the stripe painted on afterward. But the sunroof is far more important to me than the stripe. And I definitely would NOT combine the two and get the 'cross' effect on the roof.

No Sun Roof for me. Now the stripe option has me thinking, will the stripe be on the roof as shown? I would prefer it not be on the roof.

Stripes for me, sunroofs are nice but I would like all the headroom I can get in this car. I plan on being at the track a lot and will have to wear a helmet. Also I would like to keep the cost down and a $900 option just isn't worth it to me, it also rains a lot where I live!

Good Point. I have sat in both cars, and the one with no roof has about another inch to inch and a half head room.

I LOVE SUNROOFS!!! However - CAMARO, in general, has two strikes for me that extend to ZL1.
1) You lose the reverse mowhawk. That's not cool. That's a must have for me. I like how it kinda' mirrors the bigger brother 'Vette in that way. If they somehow were able to keep it, I'd be that much closer. My two 4th Gens were T-Top cars and I LOVED them. 2) I really don't like the pop-up-type sunroof on CAMARO. My wifey's Malibu is the same design. I just don't like it. I understand, though, why I think GM did it that way on these two cars though, so while I don't hold it against them, I'll save that money I'll take a stripe package and no sunroof

Yea probably so if they are vinyl. Just peel em off, and use Goo Gone does real good.
That does give me an idea though... We could order the stripe package, remove the stripe on the roof, and install a webasto moon roof...( i dont care for the factory roof) and still get the benefit of the higher roof line, PLUS the reverse Mohawk. I like this idea.... Would not be too far from original.... just a tad..and it would be different...
