Rebuilding my tr6060

Ok so I'm going to overhaul my tr6060 next weekend. Basically just add some new bearings and carbon blockers.
Do I need any special tools?
Any thing I should be aware of before taking on the task?

are you braking down the entire trans ? you will need a fairly big puller , some decent snap ring pliers , maybe some trans gel ?

Never did it. Can't find a company that will sell me parts. Everyone just wants to rebuild it for me.

I'm a builder. Don't undertake this if you're not experienced

I've done manual trans before. Not a TR6060 but you never learn by paying someone else.
I've sold off alot of my special tools when I quit turning wrenches. My snap-on guy told me the day I paid my bill off I would quit wrenching within a year. He was spot on. Lol

Well I stopped working on other people's junk. Now I just fix my own junk.

No one would sell me a billet output shaft either when i broke mine. I was told that gforce owns the patent and wont sell direct to the public. I was going to send mine to tick performance for a rebuild

Input shafts are not commonly something to upgrade as the engine only has 1:1 torque on it. The output shaft has gear ratio multiplied leverage and is more susceptible to breakage.

the gearbox has been a great resource for a long time for me. however, you can't expect them to support every detail of a custom build. the output weakness is the Ford spline swction for the fixed yoke. which means you change that to slip, you're going to have a lot of money in parts and a driveshaft. but, it may be warranted for you. and any time you shorten the driveshaft, the better off you are.
