Transmission Fluid Flush

I am trying to switch my transmission fluid to redline d4 atf because I heard it would help with my 2nd gear grinding sometimes. I was wondering if there is a filter and how much do I put into the car when doing a complete flush. Its a tr6060.

Jesse, it depends on if you have a trans cooler or not. 3.65 quarts without and 4.22 quarts with a cooler. There is no filter.

You got it.....that's just the approximate capacity. Buy yourself 5 quarts and your good.

Good call on the RedLine D4 ATF, that's the good stuff for the TR6060. In my experience (and I've been through it a few times now) you can drain it as long as you want, but you'll never get a full 4qts out of it, and so having 4qts on hand is plenty to get you topped back off. Like you said, fill till it runs out the fill plug, and you're good.

I imagine the remainder stays in the cooler unless you pull the line off.

Yea, seems right. I freshen it up every 10k miles or so, and therefore I'm not super concerned about getting every last drop.

Drain and fill will almost take 4 quarts. Had a little extra left in my gallon of Amsoil.
