Tires?
From another Forum member I purchased a new set of ZL1 replica wheels, style 41 in the silver machine finish. Upon receipt I decided I wanted to powder coat this square setup gloss black. Now that the powder coating is finished it's time for tires.
I have a 2014 2LT/RS, I am nearly 70 years young and majority of my hell raising years are far gone. I have gone through 2 sets of Pirelli P Zeros and currently running 245/40/20 Goodyear Eagles on all 4 corners (square setup) with 2019 Camaro black wheels which the width is 8.5". I do have a spare set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 all season in size 255/40/20 which would work on the new ZL1 10" wheels, but I think the 275/35/20 would be a better fit. The new ZL1 wheels are 10" width. I have decided to go with the 275/35/20 tires. Going to this size I lose .07" side wall height, gain 1.18" tire width, lose .14 tire diameter, speedometer will read 70.35 at 70 MPH. Overall I am satisficed with this portion. I need a little encouragement deciding which tire I want to go with. Knowing I am looking for a decent ride though I want a tire that offers a much better tread wear. I have selected two tires; 275/35/20 1. Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 $824/4 @ 560 with 50K warranty 2. Nitto Motivo $896.00/4 @ 560 with 60K warranty I really respect your input so please post your thoughts on which tire you would go with and why? Much appreciated Larry

Personally, I would go with Nitto mostly because my Camaro had came with them when I got it and I thought they rode wonderfully. The extra $70ish is definitely worth the extra 10K warranty, as well.

I went with these on the factory ZL1 5 spokes I bought off a forum member.
Mine are 20x10 and 20x11 BFG All seasons I still run winters from Dec until April but I don't need to panic if the temps drop below 40* like I would with summer tires. https://www.tirerack.com/cart/HoldingArea.jsp

Have you tried Tire Rack's decision guide? You can weight the different factors to you liking, weighing comfort above traction along with other factors.

The first recommendation was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 which is a 45K tire at $237.00 per tire. Second was the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06, 50K tire at $206.00 each. The Nitto Motivo didn't make the list. I am going to stick with either the Nitto or the Continental. Nitto is making more sense I believe. Hoping more people who have experience with either of these tires chime in... Larry

I don't think that Tire Rack sales Nittos.

As Reichler has said, guess that is why they didn't show on the list! Thank you for the info. Larry

I currently have the Continental Extreme Contact on my stock ZL1 rims on my 2010 2LT. Love em.

Why not go with the 285/35/20? It will fit the 10' rim better, it is the stock size for the 10" wheel for the ZL1/1le. The BFG A/S 2 is a great tire, better dry handling than the Conti. TR has the BFG 285/35/19 for $194.99 per tire.

What Matty said I’m running a set of Nitto G2s on my 6 Gen 1LE wheels and it just looks better all around. 20x10 frt an 20x11 rear.

I'm a vote for the Continentals, I went through 2 sets on my stock rims over the years and I'll be putting a set on my new (to me) rims next spring when I pull the Camaro out of storage. They hold up well in the rain compared to the stock Pirellis, and their tread life was good. I'd recommend them to anybody.

The Nitto G2 is a good one to consider.
