Ok, I will be the first to admit that I'm no mechanic. This is the first time I'm trying to work on this car. For whatever reason I can get the car to start by unplugging the cable to the right in the pic and plugging it back in. Car starts every single time. Dies after that and dies when I unplug the cable while it is running. Also, for the Lord of the Rings, where is the starter?

Not sure on the orientation of you pic, but the module in the center with the cleaned off wire loom, is the Anti-lock Brake module!

Enlarge this pic and you can kind of see where the starter is on the RH/passenger side (across from the blue oil filter)right next to the first/top most cat element where the 2 line form a V. It's covered by the starter heat shield.

Finally just stopped the car off at the dealer. They said it's the positive battery cable that runs through the entire car.

Hmmm, I would think it's an end to end connection from battery to engine compartment ...ask them to confirm that's the case. If so ask them which end is bad. If it's not a terminal end problem ask them EXACTLY where the problem is and how they found it? You want to make sure they're not just fishing for an answer only to find out after you've paid them that you still have the problem. Also get them to guarantee in writing that what they do will fix the problem.

I just installed a 4 gauge cluster in the console, and suddenly I'm having what sounds like your issue.

Dare I ask how much the stealership wants to replace the positive battery cable??

600 bucks. Wish I could have done it myself but I didn't want the hassle of taking out the seats etc.

Update. Dealership misdiagnosed the car. It was the ECM.

Car won’t crank

2010 Camaro 6.2 LS3
130k miles

Had a dash warning “tune engine off. no compression”
Oil levels and color was good.

Changed the oil sensor on back of engine, and had to take off the fuel rack, gas lines, coil harnesses, injector harnesses just to get my sausage fingers to the oil sensor

When I went to start the car, it would go into accessory mode, but won’t start. It wouldn’t even attempt to crank, and just made a clicking sound.

Battery reads good, no corrosion around terminals, just replaced the starter, fuses are all good, swapped relays and they all work, all harnesses I had taken off are all connected. Engine isn’t seized

I am stumped. Any ideals anyone can think of????
