Saying bye for now
Well guys I just wanted to say I sold my 2013 ZL! that had only 7600 miles on it last week. It was my fifth ZL1 since 2013. I have been a member here since March of 2013 and I have to say it has been great! Everyone here is always willing to help with any questions or help figure out if someone is having a problem with their Z and to say thanks for every answer to every member here who has helped. I have a bunch of ZL1 parts that I will be listing in the parts section soon so keep an eye out for that if you are needing anything. Again thanks to everyone and who knows it seems like I cannot get away from the 5th gen ZL1's and I may be back again!

Hi Vaughn,
We have done some business in the past and I really enjoyed the time we spent at your mancave in Oklahoma behind your old hotel. Enjoy your grandchildren and I am confident we will see you back here on the Camaro 5 and you will have a ZL1 or a Z28. Kevin C. |

You have been a great contributor. Good luck in your next adventure. I too sold my ZL1 and bought a 2015 Z06 and it's a great car too. They are different but I love them both.

Instead of going towards a more racecar oriented and harder to enter exit corvette I went with EV which has plenty of acceleration to keep me entertained and I don't use much of that either. 500 hp from low "rpms" and AWD is quite enough to be entertained and no wheel hop or other things to cause breakages. The sounds and wheel spin and tire smoke will be missed but time to move on. |

I wonder how many original owners of 2013-15 ZL1's are left?

Interesting question. Based on this forum it would seem not many original buyers still own their first ZL1. A lot of enthusiasts buy, sell, buy, sell, etc..
I'm the second owner of mine, have had it for nearly 7 years now (and ~53000 miles!). I don't plan to sell it, but I can 100% see how people who were financially comfortable to buy them new originally would likely also be the ones to move on after 1-5 years when something newer, "better", etc., comes around. Which isn't a bad thing or being critical of that practice, it's just an observation. |

What I have observed is one of the following:
1) Over extended when bought new, got out from under a car loan 2) Many of the owners were older, they aged out of the car, went into something more comfortable to suit their garden and slippers mode 3) Some traded up to a Z/28 or a Corvette |
