Agreed, Close call myself. Was driving down a 3 lane highway when the traffic came to a long (enough time to coast) stop. Car in front of me was doing about 50 in a 65 while others were flying past. Probably 200' ahead of them the car in front of them put on their brakes, not came to a stop, but put on their brakes. So that dumbass in the fusion HAD to use 80%breaking power just because they saw brake lights. I had an 18 wheeler behind me put on his engine brake to stop in time. Needless to say I was pissed and cut quite close to them as I eventually passed em. Those kind of people really, really piss me off.

Why would you wait 5 miles? I would've just let him hear the pipes right from the beginning. Or if I was in my tesla I would've put it in ludacris mode and left him in the dust

That was an awesome sentence!

No choice,
2 lane winding county road,
No break in traffic coming towards us,
No opportunities to pass.

BTW,
Ludacris mode and downshifting to 2nd is very close

Just a few days ago, I had a Prius do that to me in my little V6 Camaro. He was driving about 30 mph in a 50 mph zone. I downshifted into a lower gear to get the rev's up and I blew right past him. Now, if it was P85 Tesla, I might've been a little more reluctant. lol!

What's funny is if there is a posted speed limit sign, say 55 mph on a 4 lane county road (2 lanes in each direction). And the person in the #1 lane is consistently doing 46 to 50 mph, then he is as guilty of unsafe speed, or failing to drive at the posted safe speed limit and impeding those trying to obey the law. Just as guilty of a crime as a guy going 5 mph over the posted safe limit. In my entire career, I wrote 2 of those under speed limit cites. Got a "standing ovation" from all the people who were stuck behind them for miles. The traffic judges were a little less impressed.

First, thank you for your service and input. Very nice to see it from your point of view we don't always get.

LOL.. I know it seems ridiculous to actually write someone up for this but it seriously is a hazard. In NJ on the Parkway if you even do the speed limit in the "passing" lane and hog it there is a chance of killing someone. That is not being facetious. It is a serious issue and there are laws for a reason. I'm not saying it is right for anyone to do 100 in the left lane either with no recourse but to be honest I see more people speeding hitting these #'s to get around people just to keep up with traffic and go with the flow. It does seem intentional for folks to do this and it certainly is dangerous. Not just speaking here in my favor but as someone observing why people get pissed out there. The majority of the issues stem from someone thinking they deserve to control traffic and pace at a slower rate than the posted limit or not with the flow.

When I get behind someone who is going ridiculously slow and no cars behind me, I pass them and slow "way" down. I don't jam on the breaks, but just take my foot off the pedal and and drop about 10mph below what they were doing. You can see them get all mad and huffing and puffing, but it's the only way they will ever get the message to do the speed limit. I know, two wrongs don't make a right, so no need to lecture me on "who's the d-bag now".
