Had to cut the steering shaft boot and dent the header with a impact socket. If you install them, make sure there is a good 1/2" from the steering shaft, otherwise you will have to re-pull the header and dent it like I had to.
I have the TSP 2inch header, and have the same exact contact location, but only slightly. It only taps when turning right. I just left it, rather than denting the header. My steering shaft doesn't have the boot. Someday I will pull the steering knuckle and grind it down a bit.

1 7/8 headers are just as good, unless you plan on adding a supercharger someday.

If you get it dyno'd let us know what your numbers were, curious. I was thinking about going with that cam but most likely will go with a low-lash solid.

Headers arrived today and I installed them, they sent me SS 2-1/2" HFC so they don't mount to my Z/28 2-3/4" catback. Contacted them only to be told tech will call me back, never did. Hopefully I can get in touch with them tomorrow and swap these HFCs.

After install I have the corner tabs on my steering boot hitting a primary, thinking of clipping the corners off.

I’m back, everything installed and the tail end of the ARH HFC’s are getting extremely hot cherry red. Most likely the raw fuel at idle or low cruising rpm. So the question is now.., do I cat delete or try to retune idle afr etc?

i dont know if retuning is gonna solve (or not solve) your red hot issue.....but you definitely should retune. your tuner will turn the rear O2 sensors off to and will likely need to do some additional adjustments

Retune. Something is obviously off with the tune. I'd be amazed if your cats aren't melted by now. Did you buy them new or used? They may be clogged and that could be your real issue for running out of air.

He was running Z/28 manifolds and cats prior to the ARH set-up which is new

I thought they were new, but I didn't know if they were new new or new to him new. If they weren't clogged before, they may be now because they may have melted glowing red hot. Something is off on the tune because that should never have happened.

That cam will work very well for him once it's re-tuned with the headers. With the close ratio transmission and 3.91's in the 1LE it really feels great.
I've been using that same cam for a few years now with zero issues. The drive-ability is all in the tune.
Mine made 486 RWHP, now it feels like it should have came from the factory...

Oh I see what you mean now. I think they're new... or at least him saying he was sent the wrong cats makes me think they're new

Agreed on his tune being off though, and I think he should check the cats to ensure they're not melted lol that engine must be running pretty lean to make em glow

Could very well be not enough timing at idle. If there is not enough the un burnt fuel goes out the exhaust and is ignited there. Creating a lot of heat. Cam cars typically idle at much higher KPA and in that region timing can be 8-9 degrees
