It is wet, but not distinguishable (that has to be misspelled) as to where the oil level is.

My V6 fills to Full on the dipstick with exactly 6 qts of oil added, just like the manual says.

I'm resurrecting because the manual isn't very clear. Glad to see the picture on the first page.

You have a LLT motor, try to keep the oil full and check it often. Our LLT motor have been know to fail because of lack of oil. I keep my oil level in the top hash marks. Check it often.

The best way to tell EXACTLY where the proper level the oil should be at (for YOUR car - since every car is a little different) is to do an oil change, add how much oil the manual or dealer says to add and wait several minutes for all the oil to drain into the pan. make sure the dipstick is wiped clean and insert it in the engine, take it out and note where the oil level is on the stick. THAT is full - for your car. Then just keep an eye on it from there.

I've had cars that the oil level has been (when measured this way) 3/16th inch ABOVE the checkered area of the stick, some have beenin the middle of the "normal" range, it just depends. A dipstick is not a precise way of measuring since there are "tolerances" in all mass produced items. What reads high on one, can be proper on another, reading in the "good" range could actually be low. Which is why finding out where "full" is on your car's dipstick may be important ... a little OCD maybe, but aren't we all?
