I'm not surprised why cars have a clutch problem when GM engineers put such nonsense in their cars.

A spring that pushes the clutch into the floor
Does it take more effort to depress the pedal with the spring removed?

After removing the spring, the clutch pedal is a little stiffer.
But it mainly returns better. Smoothly....
The unpleasant "stair" was eliminated.

It just goes better. ...and logical.

Agree, little stiffer but not much at all.

The spring "detent" feel of the pedal is gone at the top of travel, much better feel/control of the "final engagement" of the clutch
