I had my 2011 2ss appraised last week for 20,000. 26k miles on the clock, your offer seems a bit low

In most states, I believe, the trade value is deducted from sale price before TT&L. So, when looking at that trade value, which is negotiable, add your states sales tax to it. For example, here the tax is 6.25%. So your tax savings would be $1,495 off the drive out of the new car. So in reality, your getting $24,495 for your trade. Something to consider when contemplating trade vs selling yourself. Not to mention listing the car, answering the phone, getting even more ridiculous low ball offers over the phone, spending your whole weekend waiting for people that either don't show, or just want to know what it's like to drive a 1LE but have no money or intention of buying.
If they offer 23K tell them you want 26K knowing that you'll probably get 24.5K. |

I’ve always used NADA with good results, especially with insurance companies trying to settle a loss.

I was offered $27,100 and $25,000 from 2 different dealers for my green flash edition with 14K on it. Haven't pulled the plug yet. So a 1LE should bring around the same as that package runs around the same as the green flash package. Did they not factor in the 1LE option?

This thread just substantiates why I don't buy new cars anymore. My last two Camaro's were used, 14" SS Vert 1240 mi and now my 15' Z/28 591 mi. There are plenty of very low mileage used Camaro's available, just need to look a little harder. Both were bought for almost 30-40% off list. I have saved enough on just these two cars to buy almost a new one. I will never buy a new car again.

1LE was only a $3500 package when new. So it doesn’t add much value on the used market. I’d think maybe $1k more, but mostly SS will be priced based on year/miles/condition

I think I am just going to keep it now. Didn't really want to sell it that bad. But the wife needs a new car.

Depending on where you live, if you are in an area where winter is coming then right now is not the time to trade it in. If you could wait, I'd wait until the spring to trade it. You might get more money for it.

"offers" assume a ton of items, 1st and foremost that the VIN was spoken correctly, or keyed, or if not VIN'd, some website was optioned correctly. On top of that, is the vehicle even marketable within that zip code at all. I've seen $5k swings for perfect cars. Hell, most Houstonions refuse to Dallas to save $5k on their cars, everything in Houston is jacked sky high. Don't like the first offer, go to a second, you get 3 offers within 1-2% and dealers aren't crazy, it's what the vehicle is worth. The only hope anyone has in this industry is to hire a private shopper, someone who has access to market data (black book) and 50 dealers on speed dial to find you the best deal. People laugh at hiring a shopper, until they save you $5k. Most want to "ibuy" their car like they did their apple product, living in some false universe that "they can't do the work themselves" or "it's too hard". Meanwhile, buyers are getting raked over the coals for thousands and most don't care.
