Blackfire SI02 after 2 months

Loving this spray, looks like I can apply every quarter and get good protection. (Garage kept)

How do you compare it against McKee and Reload?

It spreads much easier than mckees or reload. That's what makes it nice. It goes on kind of silky, hard to explain until you feel it work. If I had to rank them in terms of ease of use and no streaking, it would be:
1.This stuff
2.McKees
3. Reload (Frankly after using mckees and this stuff, I'll never use reload again ......too streaky)

I see that LIQUID GLASS now has an SI02 spray, with how much people like liquid glass on forums, this might be a nice product.

I agree on its durability. After initial application I went a couple months doing rinseless every week which doesn’t exactly do an obvious job showing how hydrophobic the current top coat is. Then when I got around to a full foam wash outdoors.....I forgot all about the previous BF application until I started spraying it down with the pressure washer. Water reacted like crazy when it hits the panels. I was quickly reminded and impressed with it.

what was your method of application? some people say spray on and wipe off, others dampen the cloth and still spray on wipe off, etc.

1. Spray twice on a microfiber brick applicator to moisten
2. Do one panel (like a door) at a time, spray twice
3. Do the whole panel, up,down, side to side, you can see where it goes on
4. Wait 5 min
5. Wipe off/quik fast buff-use your best LAUNDERED/CLEAN microfiber....

move on....a spritz for each 3x3 area, so a hood may be 3-4 sprtizes

Dont overthink this......its really no diff than how you use windex.....

I've heard it's simple. I've just not had much luck with the spray on wipe off stuff. too many streaks. It pushed me to hydro2, and have been using it since. but I can't get much more than a month out of hydro2 before I need to reapply, but I am diluting it pretty heavily.

blackfire si02 has piqued my interest in as much as many people have touted the ease of application with virtually no streaks.

you saying it's a good product has pretty much hammered it home for me.

It NEVER streaks (to me) just seems to vanish in the paint. I had a conversation the other day with Mike Phillips of autogeek as to what ingredient is in it that makes it so silky smooth to go on and kind of glide across the surface.... some kind of oil/silicone? His answer was classic; "damned if I know… I just like the stuff"… I agree.… LOL

Does it apply like BF CS? Seems like what you are describing is kind of like how CS applies and goes on, has that oily/silky kind of look and feel to it when applying. I always liked applying CS, it was real easy and flashed pretty quickly.

My experience with the SiO2 is that i goes on same as CS but requires just a bit more buffing than CS. Oh, and no scent. I was able to find some CS (not sure why they discontinued it) and will continue to use that until it is gone. Not real fond of the SiO2 because of the extra work. If i have a chance before putting the car up this winter, i will move to BLACKFIRE Pro Ceramic Coating. Tired of feeling like i have to re-apply every few weeks. I power wash the bugs off frequently and then feel like i have no paint protection. Thinking if i go with the ceramic coating it will last a couple of years and stand up to power washing and possibly touch-less washes.
