Valve train help!!!!

Hey guys, I have a 2014 camaro ss (ls3) with the following modifications American racing headers, high flow cats,Cai, and a tuned by janetty. Anyways I had a valve spring failure and a bent push rod
It also bent a valve but it didn't drop or hit the piston. So I have a few question, since i have to pull of the heads to replace that exhaust valve I wanted to upgrade the valve train with new springs and rocker arms and push rods. I really couldn’t find a complete set with everything I needed. I’m just confused and the push rods sizes and spring sizes and the rocker arms. Does everything come in one set maybe? Does the rocker arms need to have to correct spring and correct push rod size ??

Well, if you are going to replace springs and pushrods you might think about swapping the cam. You can usually get all of the parts you need in a bundle with the new cam. I would also replace the lifters and trays while the heads are off. And timing chain and chain tensioner. Maybe the oil pump. Slippery slope, but I think you will like the outcome.

Yeah I was looking into the cam. Never done one before but I’m a fast learner and decent with a wrench. I just need to have my baby on the road it’s been awhile since I’ve drove her.

If you had a spring failure, the valve had to have hit the piston. No spring to hold valve equals a very quick meeting with Mr Piston, usually more than once lol. I'd definitely get that guide checked.

SNipe….. I would think about since your into boltons….. Maybe going with better heads like say the GPI package which would give you 1.8 ratio rockers and they could spec you out some springs to fit the stock cam and avoid having to replace it for now anyway and get more lift from the stock cam..its a thought as they are one of the best shops and actually went to all the trouble to develop the decently priced small bore ls7 heads package..and if you feel the need the cam would come as part....yet just running a wrench so easy and I use br30 driven racing fluid for break in on cam etc etc and had a pro do it not me in the driveway with some dowels and rented tools praying to make it to a dyno 60 miles away..... Just a couple thoughts, GPI is on here in some decent posts.... its not cheap for really good performance, Good LUCK..... And the first idea is not always the best theres more than one way to skin a Tire....

Damn, those springs don't look that old. They still have most of their paint on them. How many miles?

Sorry for the few years late response lol but it only has 40k miles!! The is STILL sitting in the garage! But in September I’m going to Jannetty Racing for a cam install and some other things. It took me a while to save two new baby boys and a new home so saving $ at a snail pace.

Wow, you are a patient man! Glad to see you hung in there though. Oh I understand the slow savings. I have a 9 month boy old at home now so it's slow going with any future mods for me for a bit.

But the wait will be worth it with that new cam. You are going to love it!
