Anyone seen this?
Looks revolutionary and innovative to me. Thoughts? |

Eh, looks like Ford's SYNC system. I tried this in a rental car recently and I was not impressed. I'd rather feel physical buttons for radio, HVAC, etc. People who don't follow modern technology will have a hard time getting used to everything. Imagine grandpa using touch-screen tech for the first time. The gauges and center look cool but that's just another electronic thing that could go wrong.

If you think CUE is innovative you have to check out BMW iDrive. CUE is a step in the right direction for sure but unfortunately it's, functionality wise at least for the time being, light years behind the competition. I can't wait to see how this turns out though, it's a way for GM to get themselves back in the game
P.S. I really hope that those aren't the final maps because they are absolutely horrid looking, compared to the other players in the game, BMW/Ford/Audi/Nissan. |

Looks like app system layout of a smart phone. Or, like the CRT screen in late 80s buicks, haha.

not sure why we don't already have LED display systems. with the vehicle already having 5 different computers in it, integrating a simple linux type program that interfaces with the CAN bus and infotainment should be too easy for them. i think it should be an upgraded option, but sooner or later technology is going to push its way through and gauges and knobs will be far behind us. i already feel like i took a step back with the "upgraded" infotainment system installed. GM has some work to do when it comes to getting bugs sorted out with their interface devices. at least they offer a HUD...

It kind of looks like it would have sluggish feedback... and it's too difficult to touch all that when you're driving. I'd prefer physical buttons for things like the AC, heater, and the radio.

One thing that IS cool is that the gauges are electronic and on-screen; they just pop out of nowhere. looks really nice.

I love this CUE system. I know a 2010 SRX that is probably going in for a '13 when CUE hits!

My buddy has a new for explorer and it has pretty much the same thing. Its cool and all but I noticed some lag on the RPM needle when you gave it gas.

If you want to learn more about the CUE system, check out this episode of Autoline After Hours from a month ago. AAH #125. Their guest that night was the designer of the system and they go into pretty good detail about it.
